Grabber Blue! has finally made it home...sort of.

After a few weeks delay, Blue (what I have affectionately named it) has “almost” made it home. And what perfect timing as I was alerted that my Ford branded charger is supposed to arrive tomorrow. So I was notified by the dealer this morning that Blue had arrived and I could take it out for a spin to ensure that I wanted to continue with the purchase. Obviously I did and I definitely want it more now! All I can is Wow!! Unfortunately, I want to go with Ford Options and the finance manager had no idea what I was talking about or even how process the request. Ultimately he had to reach out to his Ford rep and said that he probably won’t hear anything back until sometime Monday. Gotta love rural Iowa. ?

So I had to let her go until sometime early next week. Parting is such sweet sorrow! ?

Not just rural Iowa. @hybrid2bev is in DETROIT and had to teach his dealer about Options. Luckily, he works for Ford Credit.

Just so I understand it, tracking on palsapp doesn't show up until the vehicle reaches KC from Mexico? My VIN shows up with a freight bill #, but status is pending and destination is null. Tracker and Ford both show shipped with ETA's

The Palsapp tracker will update when they get your car (once the train arrives ... I think it took 10 days in transit from the plant to the yard in KC).

IF your car has to go for the QC check, Palsapp will show the destination as 'Speedway' (my car was there for two weeks).

IF your car gets to skip the QC check, Palsapp will show probably the destination as 'Norfolk Southern (VOLTZ)' (that's the yard for your train since you live in Michigan).

SOME cars... were hauled via Jack Cooper car carrier all the way to Michigan ... bypassing the train. So there's a chance that if you are skipping the QC check, it'll give you the destination as Michigan.

The reason your destination says 'null' is because Ford is (at this point) leaving their shipping options open. They seem to be shipping them based on whatever method has space for the car.

If you give this info to the dealer it should help them find the information they are looking for. Just ensure the dealer selects 'Balloon' when sending your credit application to Ford Credit. The eContracting process is pretty straightforward they should be able to figure it out because Options is written on a normal retail contract form.

Did Ford Parts send you an email the charger shipped? I thought they were delayed a few months?

The chargers are being rationed. If you are taking delivery of a car then you can probably get a charger. They arent supposed to sell them to buyers that arent expecting their cars soon.

My Grabber Blue is on a train, probably in IN or OH on its way back to DE right now. It made it to DE and then went back to KC for the QC check and it’s coming back again. Can’t wait to join you in the “delivered” group.

My dealer has no clue about Options either. This is a learning experience for us all. We will get through it if we stick together

Keeping in mind that Ford Options has been discussed here ad infinitum for months. Most dealers, even if they took notice of it, probably thought to themselves: I have a day job and will figure out this options thing when it actually matters. So for them it is a completely new thing that they must deal with.

My dealer did not also know about the 100$ incentive to sign up for active drive assist. I had to send it to him yesterday. His finance guy is looking into financing options for MME as he is getting ready to receive MMEs in Feb. But he admitted he is just getting prepared. But was honest in saying dont get PPF work done through us for MME - cant recommend anyone else but looking into it as lot of Bronco buyers are asking .

Yes, FordParts sent out the shipping confirmation along with the tracking number. When I get it installed, I will definitely post pics.

Anticipatory congrats when you get your car! Not really a fan of the blue, but agree with @ChasingCoral that it looks fantastic against the snow. Really nice.

One good thing about owning a BEV in rural Iowa is that the wind blows and the electric utilities -- and the PUC -- understand that free wind makes for cheap electricity.

Remember that most F&I managers have never done an options contract and most dealerships have only a couple of Mace Es in order. I’m not surprised they haven’t dug deep into a financing instrument they may never use.

For weeks I've been pinging my salesman about options (asking him to check with the finance guy to make sure they "offer" options), and he keeps saying "I'll check into it". I am positive my email is going straight into the bitbucket, but I am definitely ONLY doing the options and told him so. If the uninformed dealership employees have to hold onto my car for a few extra days so be it, I'm absolutely NOT leasing and I want the "guaranteed out" just in case MME values collapse - especially since the $2500 makes the options cheaper than straight finance.
