So I have my GTPE for a year and bought it new. Has 17k miles and daily drive it. Normal drive habits. All 4 tires are more worn from the outside. I did get them rotated at dealer at 10k miles. Can Ford cover these tires as they are cracking and prematurely worn?

The GT-PE comes with Summer Ultra-High Performance tires. These tires are not even supposed to be stored in temperatures lower than 40°F or driven at lower than 45°F. The cracks are normally associated with the tires having been run at low temperatures. These tires are super-soft performance tires, so they wear out quickly. Some of the forum members have gotten less than 5K miles out of them. These tires have no treadwear warranty. From the photos, there is no usable legal tread left on the tires, so it's time to replace them. ??

You'll find a hundred threads about all wheel drive GT tire wear. If you want longer lasting tires downgrade to RWD select or premium. Less power, less wear.

Alrighty. Thanks guys. Definitely not downgrading from my GTPE as I purchased a high performance vehicle not a plane jane EV. Just my first EV is all with new questions. Any suggestions on tire replacements?

With as heavy, and torque heavy, as these cars are…
and with how soft the rubber is on performance tires is…
And how hard it is not to indulge In the giggle inducing launches…
it’s a combo destined to eat tires. Performance tires are so soft there are almost none that will come with a tread life warranty. You’d have to switch to a harder rubber to get more life, but then you won’t have the traction for the fun accelerator pushed. I’m running the Hankook Ion EVO ATs for better tread life but it’s a lot easier to spin the tires rather than enjoy the g-forces on launch. I slightly regret not getting Hankook Ion EVO performance tires since I only use them in summer anyway and switch to my Blizzaks in winter. Whatever you decide on, make sure they are load and speed rated for this car.

You did way better than me. Mine were much balder than that at 11k miles.

As far as replacements, I LOVE my pilot sport 4S tires.

Significantly better traction than the stock tires. I even made a thread about them:

As Mach1E mentioned above, if you want to stick with high performance summer tires, go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. There is a reason these come standard on more high performance cars (like my GT500) than any other tire. Even though they have been on the market for quite a while and they do have a replacement (PSS5) they are still one of the best. It has been my favorite tire for years and the only HP summer tire I know of that has a tread wear warranty. I usually get between 20K-25K miles out of them depending on the car they are on.

Were these in the cold temps? These are junk tires! I replaced mine with continental extreme contact DWS06 plus and have been very happy with the traction and ride, going on 50k miles. They're maybe not the performance tire you're looking for, fine for my use.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. As far as temps go I live in Monterey so temp range from upper 40s to upper 50s at night. Days are warmer obviously.

Those temps are not too big of a problem for HP summer tires. The Pirelli P Zero’s are not “junk” tires as some may think. They are right up there with the Michelin Pilot Sport series tires and come standard on Ferraris, Bentleys, Porsches, Mercedes and many more. However they have a softer tread compound and lower tread wear rating than the Michelins so many people think they are bad tires because of this. Pirelli states their P Zeros are not to be driven in temps below 45 while Michelin states 40 for theirs. Thing is, people that say HP summer tires are junk are just using the wrong tire for their needs. You want a tire that lasts a long time? Get an all season tire.

Speaking of all seasons, three of the best HP all seasons are Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus and Pirelli P Zero A/S Plus 3. They will all give you great performance in a tire that will last much longer than an HP summer tire. The Michelin has the best performance, Pirelli the smoothest and quietest and the Continental is right in the middle.

Like the others have pointed out, with the torque and weight of the MME, tire wear comes with the territory. Especially on the GT Summer only tires that have a softer rubber compound than the all season tires that come on the other models.

Even with the all seasons, if you are really hard on them like I was with my 2021 Extended range all wheel you can still wear them quickly. This is what my factory Michelin all season tires looked like at 19K when I replaced them.
Ford Mustang Mach-E 17k miles and tires look like this? tire

However, by 19K I had also had the HVBJB replaced 3 times ?

On my M3P currently, I am running the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus all season and really like them. I get about 17K out of a set and Continental has a 50K tread life warranty so they credit me back around $300 to $400 when I wear them out at 17K and replace them with a new set. The M3P has a lot more torque than my MME had so I am actually really impressed how long they last and how well they handle in all types of driving conditions.
