My 2022 Ford Options plan is up in November. I did not "order" a new Mach E and my dealer wants to purchase mine back - I'd like to stay with the Mach e but I'm waiting to see where everything shakes out.
On top of the recall / stop sale from last week, I'm in Florida which also has the stop sale due to the paint issue.

I didn't order a new Mach E as I knew with everything going on it would be very hit/miss if I would actually get it. I have a Standard RWD Regular Battery
As alternatives I'm looking at the
Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 6, hyundai Kona Electric ,Equinox EV

GM has gone away from CarPlay which isn't the end of the world, i'm just curious if anyone out there has done any research / comparisons

Would highly recommend checking out the 2025s. I went from a 2022 Select to a 2025 GT and it is a world of difference. Best part is that you're probably looking at the same lease payment for a better car in every way possible. I considered other brands but none of them had the "fun" factor of the GT especially for the current lease prices

Yes - I'd like to stay with the 2025, however there are currently 2 stop sale notices, 1 for the paint and 1 for the 12v battery issue. Hopefully both will be resolved by November

I would think if you order one now it would arrive by November, but I've also seen posts of 6 month+ wait times, so who knows.

That said, the Rally has an amazing ride even if you never plan to take it off road. If you don't like all the flashy decals you can delete them in the order as well.

Go with a 25 GT mach e. Best car in my opinion for the money. By november you will be good. My 24 GT is my favorite car I've ever owned.

Mine is October. I am leaning toward keeping my 2021 GT, but if not I like the BMW i4. The Ioniq 6 also seems nice and it's inexpensive, but for me the cargo space is just too small.

@67 Stang Convertible - Thanks for the YouTube - I was looking at the Mid Level or top level trim on the chevy which was sticker around $46k

I really don't need a lot of cargo space - as I use this as a daily driver - doing about 40 miles per day and that's about it.

I would look for an EV with the LFP battery. If lasts longer (time wise) and is safer than NMC. Tesla & Mach-e standard range have them.

I read GM is using their own LMR battery tech. Not sure about it's life or safety.

Have you driven one? I went car shopping with my sister a couple weeks ago, they have a dealer nearby that is 90% EV's so she was able to cross shop easily. We tried the Blazer RST and it was so slow... I was surprised at just how sluggish it was. Most of the cars we drove were underpowered, or had noisy drive trains, or maybe I'm just spoiled. Definitely find a way to go drive anything that may be on the radar.

We also have a BMW i4 edrive40 as well as a 2023 Mach-E Premium. The BMW has less cargo space and smaller back seat, but it rides and handles better, is quieter, and the interior is nicer in my opinion. If you have ever owned a 3-series BMW it will feel very familiar. The range is little better than our Mach-E (AWD, large battery), and it DC fast charges a littler bit quicker. No Supercharger access yet; BMW says it is coming.

I don't think you understand how your Ford Options financing works. In November you have 4 options essentially:

1) pay the final balloon payment and the car is yours to do with as you want
2) refinance the remaining balloon payment and continue to drive the car
3) Don't pay the balloon payment, turn the car into the dealer, pay any fees for excessive wear & tear, plus any mileage overages, and walk away with nothing
4) Don't pay the balloon payment, turn the car in, and buy a new car from the dealer and any mileage overages and wear and tear would be forgiven, etc. No trade-in value, however.

Under none of those scenarios is the dealer buying back the car from you. You could choose to payoff the car and then try to trade it in, but I suspect that the trade-in value will not be close to the payoff amount. I.e you will be under water.

Me personally, I would keep the 2022 and refinance the balloon payment. But my Options doesn't run out until May of 2026, so I have a lot of time to think about stuff and see if there are major changes coming. Right now there's not a lot of difference between my 2022 Premium ER RWD and a new 2025 and I don't suspect that the 2026 will be significantly different than the 2025. I mostly get a smaller frunk, a heat pump, and ventilated seats. Oh, and potentially paying more for Blue Cruise than what I currently have.

That said, I see you have a Select. Getting into a Premium with an Extended Range battery, or a GT, might well be worth it. Signifiicant upgrades going into a Premium/GT compared to the Select.

Is it weird that no one ever suggests a Tesla in these threads?

It’s at least worth comparing them if you’re cross shopping and don’t mind the looks.

That said, there are soooo many EVs out there now (literally dozens). Maybe if you give us some more criteria on what is most important to you we could help you narrow down the options.

Start with your Mach E, then tells us if you want bigger, smaller, more luxury or more basic, more performance or not etc
