Door Keypad Code

I am being asked for the default keypad code. I did not get any card from the dealer with the code on it. How do I get the default keypad code so I can reset the keypad code on the door?

In the passenger footwell is the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM has a 7 digit code printed on it. The first 5 are for North American cars (rest of world gets 7 digits). ??

The sticker on the BCM looks like this and red arrow points to the number. You want to use the first 5.

And to think, if you need to ask your dealership about this code, they charge you $150 to $250 to "look it up".

That said, card should have been issued with the user's guide and such, typically left in the glove box. On our new '25, it was the card and a small something and the means to access the manuals and such online. Because, cheap.

RTFM Thanks for the input. I also found this in the online manual. When I checked the printed owners manual I did not see it.


Keyless Entry Keypad Master Access Code

What Is the Master Access Code
The master access code is a factory-set five-digit entry code. You can operate the keypad with the master access code at any time. The master access code can be displayed in the instrument cluster display.
Displaying the Master Access Code in the Instrument Cluster Display
Read and understand the following before you begin the process.

• You must have two keys inside your vehicle.
• Make sure that you close all the doors and that they remain closed throughout the procedure.
• Do not place the device on the wireless accessory charging area during the procedure.

Note: Perform all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. If you perform any of the steps out of sequence, stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again.

1. Turn the vehicle off.

1. Place the first key into the backup slot. See Accessing the Passive Key Backup Position.

1. Turn on the vehicle, without pressing the brake pedal, and wait for a few seconds.

1. Turn off the vehicle and replace the first key with the second key.

1. Turn on the vehicle, without pressing the brake pedal.

The master access code appears in the instrument cluster display for a few seconds.
Note: The code may not display until after other warning messages display.

I didn't get owners manuals with my '21' J1 but did with my '21 J2. My '24 also came with one.

They are $58 and can be purchased from https://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=. I did buy one for my first '21 as I am old school and prefer to have the manual in the glovebox in all my cars.

This was not included in the 2021 printed manual because the 2021 Job1 cars only came with one key. I assume it was an oversight on Ford's part to not include it in the 2022+ printed manual. ??

My 2024 came with a printed owner's manual and it's not on the window sticker as an option. The plastic wrap was breached where the code card was in my 2021's sealed printed manual. I assume the dealer breached the plastic wrap to remove the card from the car for security purposes. The dealer handed me the code card with the keys. ?‍?

My 2021 was delivered without that card and any manuals. I called the dealer and they found it. The card is plastic, resembling a credit card. My 2024 had it in the glove box.

When asked about the Keypad Code Card our Dealer Rep said "They don't do that anymore". You just use the app to lock and unlock. ? When we got home we looked in the glovebox and found the code card. ?

Note that the code can be changed to a 5-digit number that may be easier for us, as users, to remember.
