Wondering if EA members may get this fix early ???The full bulletin for this recall was posted to OASIS this morning (30 June 25). But clearly, based on posts starting late last week, some owners were being notified that their '25 model cars could now be fixed. So it is possible that you will be notified to contact your servicing dealer (FordPass?) to get this recall performed maybe a day or two before anybody posts about it here. It's possible.
Additionally, I have seen fixes roll out as they were 'certified' for different MY. Meaning, they might certify the '23 models, release that for them, but are still testing the '22 and earlier models....or conversely, for some reason the '21 models get certified and released before newer models. ?
Stay flexible.
And I am guessing, you won't know if you are sitting on the clock or not until after 12 minutes.Just so I understand what my 2023 will eventually get: the "fix" is to be a software change that keeps the doors active for an extra 12 minutes so I can close them and open them again within that 12 minute period. After 12 minutes, I still am locked in or out of the car until service arrives and jump starts and/or replaces the 12V battery. Right?

Yes. The purpose of the recall fix is to prevent accidental entrapment inside the vehicle of people (ie children) or pets who are unable to use the interior door release.Just so I understand what my 2023 will eventually get: the "fix" is to be a software change that keeps the doors active for an extra 12 minutes so I can close them and open them again within that 12 minute period. Define early. No, seriously. They may, but sometimes early on a 2021, for example, comes after regular delivery on another model year (and vice versa).Wondering if EA members may get this fix early ???
Okay, understood. Thank you.it's not whether or not the recall service has happened or not - i think the fact that it says "schedule service" rather than "recall service not available right now" is the tell that the software is now available. my ford pass app still says "not available" but hopefully that will change for me as it seems to have for @RandallOfLegend
in fact i think now the mystery of this is solved - they seem to have released the patch for the 2025 models first, probably to clear the stop sale as soon as possible. it appears they are still qualifying the patch for 2024 and prior.Okay, understood. Thank you.
Yep, I got that. I and my '23 will wait. Good thing my 2-legged pet can operate the door handle. ??Define early. No, seriously. They may, but sometimes early on a 2021, for example, comes after regular delivery on another model year (and vice versa).
The reality is if you don’t have small children, those who consistently behave like small children, or pets in your car this isn’t that big of an issue. For those who do have infants and pets in a car regularly it is a valid concern. A fix sooner rather than later hopefully.
If I have to open the door myself, the chauffeur is getting fired. Right after I get my evening second dinner, of course.Good thing my 2-legged pet can operate the door handle. ??
