Oooooo, the steering wheel looks way better with this carbon trim and especially the leather airbag cover. I need more info on these.
Hey Dale, the steering wheel I currently have I'm testing out. I'm having another one made with a few changes. I won't be sharing photos of the steering wheel until I get the updated one in about a week or two. That said, if you just want to replace the air bag cover, I have done this before on other wheels and I know Miguel has also sold one to Snakebitten. As far as the carbon fiber trim around the switches, that is not a cover. Miguel had his fabricator actually make a carbon fiber switch trim. Unlike the Ford parts which are two pieces (the switches trim and the lower gloss black trim) Miguel's is all one piece that is why it looks a little different than OEM. I have photos of all of these items and will be posting them on a separate steering wheel thread once I get my final wheel.

Ok, so you get it! That's what I was looking to do, even out the textures of the vinyl and suede with a common theme.

So, about that horrible gloss black console trim, like I mentioned earlier, I sent one to Miguel's fabricator and we all had a look at it. At first we were thinking to cover it in a matching leather and have the same stitching from the GTPE but after I took it apart in my car, I realized there is absolutely no room for any material to be tucked in under it where it fastens to the console body. There is also no room for the cup holders to drop back in once the material is there so that plan was nixed. And as I said earlier, fabricating an entire part like that out of carbon fiber would be prohibitively expensive with all the mounting clips plus studs under it for the charger, cup holders, etc. The easiest and best way to go is to make a nice cover to go over it. The cover can be either carbon fiber or a plastic cover trimmed in leather with stitching. Again, we have been working on this for some time and with all the other projects Miguel has going on, it takes time.

I took mine out because was making a disassembly tutorial for a member and this is what it looks like under that trim piece. You can see there is a lot going on to just fabricate a new one in carbon fiber.

That thing is insanely complex. I thought it would be fewer parts after extracting the cupholder and just leaving that as-is. There's so much for mounting the pad and the outlet. Not to mention, it doesn't look like a simple install for the customer.

Quick sidestep, I hadn't noticed in your initial post but you didn't highlight the steering wheel. I noticed it matched the forged look as well. Looks good.

Back to the center console; I think the best bet is a cover, as well. The only other option is a complete redesign of that part incorporating a better QI charger to give it value. Though, again the clip points are going to make that not only time consuming but extremely expensive. Possibly more than the hood, and I can't see someone going for the center console piece that hard.

Yes it is complex. The cup holder, keyless entry antenna, wireless phone charger and USB hub are all mounted underneath this trim. With all of those attachment points and the clips all the way around the outside edges for the trim to mount to the main console body, it would not be easy or cheap to fabricate a part exactly like this in carbon fiber. And like I mentioned earlier, we can't cover it in a material because of the close tolerances (actually no space or gap at all) between the bottom edge of the trim and top edge of the console body and also around the cup holders. The only option is to make a tight hard cover that hides all of the gloss black. This is what Miguel and I are working on now with the fabricator.

About the steering wheel, it is a work in progress. I am having Miguel making me another one with some tweaks I wanted (leather and stitching color, padding thickness). When I get the updated version in a week or two will then post actual photos of it.

I had some friends here from Italy last week and they said the same thing. Looks like gray camo. The gloss forged looks a lot more like actual carbon fiber since it has so much depth to is. The satin almost looks like it is just a print but it is real. No matter, I like the satin finish better in the car. Also, sometimes glossy can look cheap.
Oddly, I agree with all of the comments about it. Looks like a quality producer though. I may look into it.

I'm finally getting around to posting photos of the carbon fiber interior trim pieces from @miguelmix at BSKT Design that I installed last month.

My GTPE interior had too many different trim finishes and wanted to make it more cohesive. Door panels have matte black plastic, dash has gloss silver trim, steering wheel and console have gloss black trim, etc. I had originally used the fake plastic matte carbon fiber trim kit from AOSK for the door panel switches, steering wheel and console trim. They didn't have a dash trim so was always stuck with the shiny silver trim across the entire dash that I dislike.

I have never liked the look of standard (weave) carbon fiber but I do like forged carbon fiber. Miguel has sold quite a few of his dash and door kits over the last couple of years but they were all gloss weave carbon fiber. The interior of the GTPE is charcoal black with Ford performance gray Miko cloth. In my opinion, glossy trim whether is it just gloss black or gloss carbon fiber is too much in this car. Your eyes go right to all the gloss trim everywhere, and I wanted a more muted look. Not to mention gloss black always looks dusty, dirty.

I reached out to Miguel and asked if he could make up a kit for me in forged carbon fiber instead of the weave and wanted it in a satin finish. He got right to work and in one month, I had my trims! He would send me photos as they were developing the trims, especially what the finish would look like. I have to admit, the glossy forged looks much better than satin (it is beautiful) but just didn't want gloss for the GTPE interior. Miguel came up with a satin finish I liked the best by creating the trim in gloss first then put a satin finish over that. Gave it a little more depth, although nothing like the depth you get with the gloss finish. The gloss finish with forged looks 3D where as the satin looks flat.

Bottom line, I am very happy with the fit and finish of all the trims. They all have 3M double stick tape on the back like most other trims do. Included was quite a few packets of surface cleaner/prep. Once you have the trim in place just pushed down firmly and they are rock solid. I really like the satin forged carbon fiber on the various surfaces in the car and to me the interior looks more upscale.

I've been working with Miguel on figuring out what we can do with the gloss black console trim that surrounds the cup holders and phone charger. I sent his fabricator that part and we are working on some ideas.... to be continued.

Ok, now the photos. One thing to note is depending on the lighting, they can look very different. Sometimes you see more of the forged pattern and sometimes not all depending on how the light reflects off of it.

Comparison between satin and gloss trims. With a satin finish the carbon fiber is muted and it ends up being a dark gray in color. With a gloss finish, the carbon fiber pops and it's darker, more blacks.

Looks phenomenal Mark! I also dislike the the gloss and resulting glare from the dash trim. At certain angles it acts like a mirror and reflects the sun right into the eyes.
Three weeks ago I traded in my '21 Premium for a '24 GT and agree with you about the bright silver trim on the dash. I'd like to know whose idea that was? I really like the muted look of this carbon fiber trim and think it blends in very well with rest of the interior. Also looking forward to see what they come up with for the gloss black trim on the console.

As always you do some quality upgrades @markboris. It isn't my cup of tea, but looks really well done, which is something I always appreciate.

Looks awesome! Have you noticed any additional rattle noises after installation?

Thanks Jeremiah! No noises or rattles at all. Don't see how there could be. They are extremely light, thin carbon fiber trim with 3M double sided tape and once on, it's solid.

Looks so much better than the bright aluminum trim.

That bright trim doesn’t compliment anything.

And that display was easy to remove wasn’t it? 😊

Yeah, much better. Thanks for the instructions. Only had a problem with the pink connector, it was hard to pull out, and I was worried I would break it.
