So, here’s an idea out of left field. Ford is already friendly with Amazon so, possibly, some kind of tie-up with Slate? Or Telo?

Anecdotes...

look in the beds of used trucks at your favorite dealer... few have scratches in the bed or even paint scratches on the hitch receiver.

There are dozens of threads on the internet saying directionally the same thing... the majority of trucks never haul or tow stuff... there are no threads I could find that says that the majority of trucks are used for "truck stuff" on any regular basis.
Yeah I get what you’re saying but, 99% might be a wee bit high for unused trucks. And of course if it’s on the internet we all know it’s true. 😏 Personally I use the heck out of my F-150 and everyone I know that owns a truck also uses it for truck stuff. Anecdote? Maybe, or maybe we just travel in different circles. 😎

Can we fix the 12v issue first? I got locked out twice Saturday because of 12v drainage.

OT as this is, being a 21 you should have replaced the 12v cell by now. Ours was a 2020 build and died a few months back. A lot of the early builds abused their 12v batteries and this shows in the long term.

Same here. I can’t think of too many of the trucks I know of belonging to friends, relatives, or neighbors that are not used to haul or trailer stuff. My Blazer’s left side is caved in from doing truck stuff. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Ok, my prediction: Most or all of Ford’s new EVs will be EREVS, and they will be very clearly emphasizing the long range and ability to skip chargers and stick to fuel pumps if people really want to.
Might solve most of the adoption problems

The lifespan of the 12V battery is 4 years. No abuse is needed.

I have literally hauled 16 foot lumber in a 4 door Jeep Wrangler, much easier now that I have an F-150, most versitle vehicle I have ever owned.

I just brought home a dozen 12-feet long pieces of 3/4" PVC irrigation pipe in the MME. So that works too if you're clever. :)

Announcing an electric Ford Ranger for delivery at some point, possibly in the distant future is not a Model T moment, and resembles something more like updating your Porto Potty by providing toilet paper.
A Model T moment is offering a variety of new EV models and hybrids, with BYD build quality and pricing, while implementing next-gen battery technology that gets us to 600 mile range with 15 minute charges. Or maybe just one of those?

Ok, I gotta ask, what is up with all the photos, I haul the crap out of stuff with my F-150 and not once, never have I taken a photo of what I haul?
Well, mainly it is my first pickup truck. And secondly, the Rivian owners on the Rivian forum are posting their hauls as well. So why not?

The better question is: why do you drive a vehicle that is so boring that you don't feel the need to take pictures of it?

🤣

I took pictures of my MME all the time. Like you shake your head, my wife did every time I took a picture of it. Same for the Rivian. LOL.

I figured after I asked the question you were just showing the capability of your truck. I must admit with the photos posted it’s pretty impressive!

Well, it was in response to the post about how 99% don't use their $100k truck for truck stuff. I just wanted to show that some people actually use their $100k trucks for truck stuff.

The first weekend I overloaded it with a stack of mulch. The Lowe's guy said how much he loved to see people using trucks like trucks, instead of babying them. The truck bed is all marked up now. But it is a truck! A truck that can go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. Insane.

What if the Model T moment is not the vehicle, but that Ford will manufacture all the components, modules, motors, wiring, batteries, etc. for the next generation of EVs?
I'm fairly convinced it'll be a platform announcement and not a vehicle unveiling. Part of the platform, though, could be either a consolidation of all the various modules into a single module or far fewer modules, plus Ford assuming responsibility for the programming of that module. I rather doubt that Ford will suddenly reembrace vertical manufacturing. The world doesn't work very efficiently or well that way, despite some politicians' vehement desires to the contrary.
