I believe that a "delivery hold" is not a recall, but when the dealer preps the car and puts the VIN into FDRS, they should know they need to do the maps update.

It shows up under outstanding campaigns with the recalls. So basically the same thing. The updates show up seperatly on the oasis.

I can check a vin# if anyone needs it.
Late to check in today - and I have found the “good” of good morning. How is the progress on your car?

I got nothing "good" to say. Unfortunately
Wishing for some progress for you and the rest of us in 1/3 and 1/10 who are slowly moving forward or are stalled.

Is it possible they are installing updates at RichardsGebauer or wherever before moving cars along? This shows my pure ignorance: how mobile is the update process? I’m just trying to figure out how it takes 1.5 months to move from the plant in Mexico to being stalled in MO. Sorry for my frustration showing. I need to focus on the good in you all.

and by “good”, I meant good people, not good email, unfortunately.

No, it's not possible.

When our cars can do OTA updates, they can't do them until you connect with the vehicle in FordPass. I'm told that the modules come from the suppliers already programmed, and are put into the vehicle, and not updated prior to shipment, or while sitting for weeks/months awaiting chips. Not sure if that's perfectly accurate or not, but any update would be via someone getting in the car and connecting to FDRS, not OTA.

Mine vehicle, started 1/19 and finished 3/1, has 5 modules that have updates available, one of which is the GoogleMaps updates.

Keep in mind that no OTA updates have been issued for 2022 module year to anyone.

Is it recommended to activate the vehicle during the shipping process in order to receive updates? My vehicle is also being held hostage in MO. I wasn't planning on activating the vehicle until it arrived at the dealership.

No.

Activation is a 2-step process. Once you request activation, the car has to agree to it, i.e. a human being has to accept you on the Sync screen.

Doing this ahead of time may start some subscriptions that have limited time on them, and you don't want to do that. Further, there are no OTA updates at this time for 2022 vehicles, the maps update happened in May and won't be resent.

I don’t know the exact location of the car but I know that the train is moving and when the train is expected to arrive.
Union Pacific is now reporting my car is “constructively placed” (translation is = at Mira Loma but not unloaded).

oh so cool! And what a great name for it.
My dealer told me that it can take up to a week to get from there to dealer in OC, but usually less.

Just picked it up. Its dark out now so pics tomorrow. Haven't had a lot of time with it but very impressed so far. I got a Base select and it still feels really great. My daily driver was the tundra so quite different.
