Hi there, got the update message on my 2024 AWD ER. Connected the car to the L1 charger with around 35% HVB charge and pressed update now. The update didn’t go thru stating “
Update Postponed
Your latest update was postponed because the vehicle battery was low.
The installation is scheduled to retry tomorrow at 1:00 AM.

Okay, so I left the car on L1 charger and this morning I got the same message. The HVB battery charge would be at around 42% at 1am when the update failed again.
Is it the LVB or HVB it’s complaining about ? If LVB isn’t it supposed to charge up from L1?

This happened to me over the weekend. The LVB was at 71% SOC, while the HV was at 47%. I charged the L2 up to 61% and the update installed successfully. (LVB was showing 73% SOC when the update started successfully).

So I'm guessing the LVB has to be above 70% and HVB has to be above 60% for it to start.

When the update finished (took 17 minutes to install), the LVB showed 71% SOC while HV showed 62% SOC (yes HV went up).

Thanks and how do you check the LVB SOC?

Or reach out to your Ford Adviser. I sat my Mach in the driveway on over the weekend for 9 hours and raised my SOC from 64 to 94%. Reached out to them before and after.

Take the car for a 20 minute drive and the leave the a/c fan speed on at least 5 during the drive. Try to install it manually as soon as you park instead of waiting for the auto-updates schedule to do it.

For me, that doesn't do much. a 20 minute drive increase the LVB by 1-2% at most. Even with the fan blasting at full speed.

What works for me is to plug the car into a L1 or L2 charger (tune the L2 to lowest amps possible to stretch out the charge session). When I need to increase the SOC of the LVB, I plug it into my L2 charger, program it for 6 amps and let it sit for a few hours. It can go from 50% to 75% in about 6-8 hours.

so, did you manage to instal this update?

I have same now. Checked that even 73% of 12V battery is not enough for installation. Will try to push it up to 80%+

What is your HV battery % at? Mine wouldn't start until HV was over 60% and 12V was over 70%

I did, it just installed overnight again without me doing any tricks. The HVB was over 40 at the time of installation. The only thing I did was to unplug the usb charging device and dash camera which were not supposed to draw power while car is not on anyway.

HV Battery was 75%, so pretty high. Very strange that the update, which needs 20 minutes, can not be installed if 12V is 73%.

I charged LV to 75% and pushed to Update. It worked. Took 20 minutes and after the update LV was down to 67%. Seems like need to change LV.
