10/24 Build date

It took me about 6 to 7 weeks to get it once it left the plan, but I'm in California. You'll hopefully be a bit quicker...

I did a data extract from the orders spreadsheet a couple weeks ago. I filtered down to cars with delivery dates, sent to states in the Midwest (I am in IL), from like June to present. It looked like the times from Built to delivered to dealer ranged from 3 to 6 weeks for most records, though there was one outlier at like 9 weeks. You could probably do something similar for Cali if you wanted to.

ETA: Average is 25 days without the outlier, 29 days with it. That is for IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, MO, with delivery dates June to present.

Usual sequence of events is: Body Shop (assembly of basic chassis) -> Paint Shop (gotta make it pretty) -> Assembly line (put all the parts in, including a giant ass battery and electric motors, activate modules, etc) -> QA inspection -> Built status. Usually the car goes to the Body/Paint shop a few days before it hits the assembly line portion of things.

Thanks, that was the quote from the dealership, I assumed he was right, bad assumption! Status page not working right now, I’ll check back later… it was supposed to have a build date of today, so Body Shop yesterday makes sense based on your timeline…

My build week was 1/3/22, and my build day was 1/4/22. It went to the body shop on 12/23/21. So while it looks like it spent 10 days in the body shop, the week of 12/27/21 the plant was off for Christmas break. Figure that it spends at least a couple of days in the Body/Paint shop.

Well, now I have no status, says my VIN is invalid. window sticker page still works. Hoping status page is just temporarily down.

Yeah, the order tracking site was inconsistent for me as well. It would go days not working, and then work for a while. If you can get your window sticker it means your car is being built and will be a 2022.

According to ford chat, my car went into the body shop on monday (Oct 24th), at least that was the status was last updated. Just talked to them again, after received modules this morning. The car is now in "trim line" (last update Oct 26th). So it looks like the body shop portion takes about 2~3 days.

Hope this info helps for people that want a reference!

Yeah, it’s working again this morning! Window sticker showed up last Friday… checking modules now…still no modules, hopefully by tonight or Saturday…

So my timeline has been...

10/20: In Production
10/22: Window sticker
10/28: Modules show up

I am hoping that means tomorrow I get the update to "Built", since today (10/28) was the build date they gave me when I asked Ford chat on the 20th.
