Now that the battery is out of warranty, it would be nice to have the option to dial up faster DC fast charging rates and unlock more of the top and bottom buffer to reclaim some lost range. Ford has been so conservative with the BMS, it seems like it wouldn't hurt to give the owners a chance to push the battery a bit more in its older age, given that most of the degradation happens early on.Yes, please Ford make the charge curve a little less conservative.
@Ford Motor Company: give us an option in the software that unlocks after 100,000 miles. One option that unlocks 2 kWh (+/-) on the top and bottom buffer, and another that locks in a better charging curve (i.e., a charging curve that allows for a higher battery temp). This would be the perfect opportunity to gather data on more aggressive charging curves and smaller buffers, all beyond your warranty period.
