Today I took my 2023 MME in for its 30k service at Koons Ford, almost exactly 3 years to the month after it rolled off the assembly line (I purchased it about 5 month later). Dropping the car off, I (gently) pressed the service advisor that I wanted the 12v battery replaced to preempt sudden failure. He explained the unless it failed the load test, he could not get it replaced under warranty, to which I said paying out of pocket was preferable to the alternative. Interesting, even with this, he still acted somewhat reluctant about my request, even trying to convince me to leave the battery alone.
Later in the afternoon, got the news that the battery failed the load test, and was replaced free under warranty.
