Greetings, Been lurking here for a couple weeks. Did a test drive today on a 21 Mach-E Extended Premium with 19k miles. Was impressed with the way it drove. They are asking 39k but hinted I might be able get a better deal.
What would be a good price in today's market.
Also looked at a 23 with same options and they wanted 56k for that.

Based on the trade in offers people have been getting, that’s super high for a premium.

You should be able to get a loaded GTPE for that price.

You also could get a brand new model Y for that (if you’re into that sorta thing).

I know the model Y has some advantages but interior/exterior didn't appeal to me.
If you close your eyes and drive it’s not that bad.

Or maybe that’s just how Tesla wants you to drive on the highway. ?

Have you done a broader search using the online car websites? There are some deals out there for sure.

Yeah have been looking online. Also forgot to mention the car is AWD.
So for Tesla enable self driving mode and close eyes. ?

That’s the same configuration as my ‘21 Premium AWD ER. Mine has 15000 miles and CarFax says it’s worth $35k trade in, $39k private sale. It’s a great car.

Keep in mind that it probably has an open recall on it which will be a PIA when it’s time to have it fixed.

So, it looks like the dealer is asking about what yours is worth for private sale, kbb is about the same.
But looking at other posts on this forum dealers are offering less than trade-in for whatever reason.

I’d check the prices at the ford dealer in Huntley, IL and use it as basis to negotiate. Some of their cars are lemons, but not all. They seem to have the lowest prices based on what some members here reported. For example, they have a 21 premium for $32k.

Have to agree with all members here. The price is way too high, probably by about 10k.

Wow, prices aren't that low around here yet but I can show that to my dealer.
So what is going to happen in January with prices? Doesn't the tax credits for Mach-E and Tesla go away because the battery materials were manufactured in the wrong country?
And if the economy gets worse Tesla may drop prices again so they can keep selling and if that happens lower prices will ripple through the other EV manufacturers.

If you are open to a little adventure you can widen your search and have a road trip back to bring it home. Prices on the West Coast are probably going to be significantly higher than states further east. EVs seem to be a lot more popular along West Coast states, which is why you are seeing the higher prices there.

If I were you, I’d pick a couple of clean cars from the Illinois dealer and use them. I’d also get a couple trade in offers like the one below and show them to your dealer and ask: how much do you expect to make on a used car?

The below trade in offer was done yesterday from the company offering the highest price. Others are offering less.

Good luck!

I looked around at various dealers and the higher prices for used Mach-E's seems to be in the west.
The 39k for that was quoted seems to a good price for my area. I think east of the Mississippi they are lower. I wouldn't mind going as far as a full day trip but I didn't see any lower prices in the west.
But I can still use the info you guys have provided to see how low my dealer will go.
Plus I can wait and see what comes up black friday, Christmas, & New Years. I got a great deal on a new ford the day after Christmas once.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Makes sense. The left coast tends to have more disposable income for cars and things than the rest of the country.
