Thanks to everyone that contributed to my original post regarding the comparison to my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

My wife and I ended up getting a 2023 GT Grabber Blue 2 weeks ago and got the 0% financing for 60 months. The short review is...we love it. It is the best car either of us have owned and absolutely love it. Having a 48 amp home charger is key and everything has went just fine. The dog fits just fine in the hatch area and can even stand on all 4s without bumping her head and she has ample room. The speed of this thing is unreal with the instant torque and it is a joy to drive. The technology has been great, phone as a key has worked flawlessly for both of us (iPhone 12 Pro and 13 mini) and we've had no freezing issues or PaaK issues that so many have mentioned. Overall, we only have 2 gripes about the car.

  1. No ventilated seats...I mean, really?
  2. The suspension is rough on these pothole-filled PA roads.

Everyone that has seen the car has loved it and even people that told us before to not buy it because it's electric and too small have loved it. My dad actually is going out tonight to lease a 23 after seeing mine (he was a naysayer originally too).

Now to the "Are we crazy?" part. My wife has decided she loves the car much more than her Dodge Charger and wants to get her own Mach-E. 0% ends tomorrow and we re seriously considering getting a 2nd GT. We both like Grabber Blue but having 2 of the same color and car seems weird, so I was looking at a Cyber Orange GT or Vapor Blue GT for myself and the wife can have the Grabber Blue. There is a dealer by us that has a Grabber Blue GTPE and we are intrigued in the MagneRide and if it will be smoother on our crappy roads, but that leaves us with 2 of the same color...Anyways, are we crazy? Does anyone else have 2 Mach-Es?

0%? Have I not paid attention to the Ford site? (Oh I see what they're doing, the 0% is only for vehicles ordered before May 1st, so 2023's not 2023.5's, but for fun I'm headed to the dealer in 30. min to play the game)
GTPE is light years smoother than all of the other MME models. (Some say too light, but to me it rode like an SUV should, not like a performance car).
I'm trying to shuffle a GTPE my self, after spending countless hours under the car working on solutions to this bumpiness.

If it's the continued bucking of the car after hitting said pothole Koni rear shocks make a significant improvement. If it's the side to side wobble after hitting said pot hole, sway bars. If it's just the general unpleasant hitting of the potholes/rough road GTPE all the way, but I HIGHLY suggest the Conti RX's and NOT the P-Zeros unles you like replacing tires yearly.

There's another thread on hear with a title along the lines of "Who has made the full transition to EV?", and in it are some owners that have two MMEs. I don't think we are quite there yet, but don't think anyone is crazy for going that route if it fits into their lifestyle.

As it stands we still have two tall kids and we are tall. While the four of us in the MME is fine for maybe a few hours on a trip, for longer stretches we have the F-150, which is a living room on wheels. Also still use the bed almost weekly to move stuff that my wife would never allow in the back of the MME (and some that just wouldn't fit). So for now, we remain one BEV and one hybrid. It's just not in the cards for us yet.

But for many, MANY, others, the reality is they can absolutely have two MMEs and be totally fine. Borrow a friends vehicle if needed or rent a Home Depot F-250 for $20 if it's something huge. If driving the MME makes you happier day-to-day, then it's totally worth it.

I haven't driven a GTPE yet, but it sounds like from others on here the Mag Ride is better for adjusting the suspension for more performance use, and it doesn't seem Ford left a tune for softer ride. So I don't think it has much improvement in that area from a Premium or regular GT. But maybe if you can test drive one back to back with your GT on a troublesome road you can let us know!

I was the first person in the US crazy enough To buy 2 Mach-E’s (in March of 2021). Overall it’s been a wonderful blessing that we were able to financially do it. Neither of us are disappointed.

I wish we had two. My wife bought a 2022 Subaru Accent a few months before I bought my MME. Now we both prefer the MME and fight over it. The extra space and ICE convenience is helpful for road trips, but every time I drive the Subaru I wish it was the MME.

Hmm, I would go test drive the model X first. The recent price dropped and eligible for full tax credit makes it closer to the MME price. There is also the Cadillac Lyriq that I think looks really good inside and out. Having two identical car in a household is just unimaginable to me. I like to try different brands and see how they perform.

Also, did you experience any software problems yet? Drive mode not available. Screen freeze. Failed charge. Etc. Mine has those problems from time to time. Maybe sit on it a little more before jumping in for another one.

I bought 2 EVs within 2 days, for my husband and me. However, the 2nd was a Volvo C40 because we wanted official towing capacity and found a barely used one off lease for a decent price. Once you drive EVs, it can be hard to go back. So, if it's crazy, at least you aren't alone?

Love the C40! We have a 2019 XC-90 and I have my eye on the EX-90, but I'm going to wait and see what it's really like when it arrives.

All that to say I think we'd be a dual EV family if / when we can get our hands on a more spacious, 7-seater type. EV9 perhaps.

I say go for it - if for what ever reason you need an ICE you can always rent one.

Good luck!

2 MME and the older one has a hitch so decide to use it to return scaffolding from working on the house. The C10 gets 12 mpg on a good day and since the rental place was eight gallons away it was cheaper to rent a uhaul trailer and tow with the MachE. C10 sits in the garage, on a battery tender.

Go for it! I've been on the same (crappyish) roads in my MME GT and in my friend's MME GTPE and the magnaride definitely helps to smooth things out. No Lincoln/Caddy/Lexus smooth, but enough to make things more pleasant for sure. As for color, ideally I'd suggest getting a different color simply for practical reasons, but I'm sure you can find lots of ways to personalize the two cars... (looking right at you Rod @Murse-In-Airy)

Have fun!

LOL Like you haven't personalized your car, John! Those hatch lights are visible all the way down here. ??

The GT-PE Magneride is definitely smooth. I never have driven a non-Magneride GT to make a fair comparison. Anyhow, the Magneride cars are so smooth that even with stiffer anti-sway bars it's smooth. Although, I agree with John that it isn't nearly as smooth as my Cadillac was, but I've never ridden in a living room on wheels that was anywhere near that car. ??
