2021MY Just Got Software Update 3.5.2

3.5.2 is just a gateway module update, the cars router, so nothing visibly different. 3.5.3 updates the APIM, or Sync, so that’s when you’ll see some changes.

Alexa will come in a later version though, these are just preps for her arrival. Rolling out the red carpet if you will.

3.5.3 brought the evil known as Alexa to my car.

Well well i was like I never get updates anymore yesterday reading this thread and bam got 3.5.2 last night . No idea what it does have not driven anywhere yet haha.

So today I got 3.5.2 in the morning and then got the charging update in the afternoon. For most of the day my phone would not stay connected to the car, kept going in and out and would not connect Carplay. Ford needs to figure out how to download these over Wi-Fi at night.

I noticed the GWM PowerUp added more applications to the module. Besides being a gateway, this module appears to host the car's operation applications and could be call the car's central processor. That is the reason why it gets updated frequently.

The new apps look interesting from their brief description. I do not know if or when they would be operational. It could be to bring the GWM up to the Lightning level and the MME does not have the hardware to do some of these functions.

Got my update last night as well—when I went into the garage this morning, the car was humming and all the lights were on. I turned the car on/off and it fixed that but there were some odd issues with the radio making thumping noises instead of playing music through Car Play. I used the down and out to reset the display but that didn’t sound the thumping noise. I then switched it to radio, which alleviated the issue and then back to CarPlay so I could stream what I wanted to listen to. Anyone else have these odd things occur?

Always does weird stuff after an update lol. Mine LOVES to do the wipers.

Day after the update and my bluetooth phone connections keeps dropping. Had been rock solid for ages but something with this update may have disturbed that. Not panicking though.....these sorts of things usually work themselves out several days after an OTA and then stuff works like normal again.

It adds a A/C button on the main display, which is very cool (pun intended), and significantly reduces Sync start up lag and Sync lag in general. The start up lag was super annoying to me so that improvement alone was awesome in my book. And I only have one book.

We don't use Alexa in our house, have Google speakers everywhere, but only use them for music, don't speak to them I would feel ridiculous. But the Alexa in car weather display is great
