I agree! But can we also agree that Subie loyalists are kinda weird and cultish? (Not like us at all… ?). And at least here in MN, they are nearly tied with Prius drivers for clueless driving habits. ?

We’ll get there…especially if the price of gas keeps going up and stays there.

I financed with the 4yr Ford Options plan just so I'd have the choice of walking away if the resale value tanks. Good to know that's not the way things are headed...for now at least.

Seems low considering that the 2021s have effectively not depreciated

This is absurd. They've picked a number out of their butts on what the vehicle will be worth, when they have no data to base it on.

I say 53.917%.

If in 5 years, my $69,000 MSRP is worth 37.9% of that ($26,151), I would say we made a horrible choice when it comes to resale.

Especially when inflation makes that number closer to $20k.

And they’re saying that’s #1???? Oof.

Show me a 5 year old $70k car that you can buy for $26k.

I don’t remember that being the case…….ever. Even for horrible resale vehicles in the past.

Just to compare, my wife’s 2.25 year old Model 3 with 12000 miles is worth more than we paid for it brand new from Tesla.

mid expect the Mach-E to retain far more value than what this projects

Our 2017 Chevy Volt is currently worth $23k from online vendors (driveway, etc.) and we only paid $27.8k for it 6 years ago (and got a fed tax credit at that time). Yes, the used car market is high, especially for EVs and PHEVs it would seem but given the IRA bill signed into law yesterday I don't see the market for used EVs cooling down for quite some time, especially now with the $4k fed tax credits. for used EVs.
