If it follow my premium and all others with recent build dates, expect delivery a little more than a month after build. Assuming no chip issues

2022 order book opens in September.
2022 production starts in November.

I call BS. If they can get a 2022 car into production in 2 months, why are we waiting 3 or 4?

If that's accurate, I'll cancel my 5/3 order and place an order on 9/27 and get a 2022 model built in November instead of waiting til September for a 2021.
Was thinking the same. Still no build date on my 3/10 order, sounds like I'm better off cancelling and ordering a 2022.

I am thinking the same thing about my 4/23 order. No scheduled production date yet.

It would really suck to take delivery in oct/nov and have 2022s come out a month later. I was really hoping they would just make my order a 2022 by just bumping the model year without advertising it.

Where in NV and what dealer did you use? I am in Henderson and ordered my Premium through Ford Country. The experience has been meh at best. I realize a lot of that is Ford, but they aren't exactly forthcoming on order info either.

I also ordered from Ford Country although they are the furthest of the four Las Vegas area Ford dealers. I'm working with Kevin Clyde since they offer X Plan pricing. Kevin came highly recommended on this forum. I almost had to travel out of state to not get ripped off. Kevin emails me updates every few weeks.

I'm trying to decide if I should cancel and order after the cutoff for a 2022 or just keep the 2021 which will be here around Christmas.
it could be Spring before 2022 deliveries start.

That would be because you forget delivery is about 2 months. 2021 production started VERY slowly in early November 2020 with significant deliveries starting February 2021. By the time dealer cars are built (read practice cars), production ramps up and you factor in delivery time, that means 2022s may not be delivered in any numbers until March 2022.

Forgive the newbie question but... Does this imply that maybe the current wait will not be 24+ weeks? Or will people who are ordering right now get their '21 models in early 2022, at the same time people who order in Sept/Oct will receive their '22 editions? Or is there another reading to these dates?
Don’t forget the delivery time, which has approached two months.

Have you seen any new features or improvements for 2022 Mach E? If not cancelling an order for 2021 Mach E may jeopardize $7500 tax credit once F150 lightning is produced?

I'm wondering if they will update the battery and voltage to compete with the new Kia coming out. It may be worth waiting until spring. Especially if they make the 2022 with fewer bugs. My plan is to wait until the middle of Sep before canceling. There may not be too many differences between the two model years.

What would be the point of accepting 2021 orders until September? That makes no sense given the lead time is 24+ weeks, which hasn't been updated in months, so is most likely even longer. Also didn't the CEO say 2021 was completely sold out back in like April or May?

24 weeks from September is like the middle of March 2022.

So there you have it. If my car is actually built on its date of 9/5, it will be just 3 weeks out before the 2022 orders are put in place.
Orders.

But they'll be waiting probably until end of Q1 well into Q2 of 2022 to get their cars. By all means anyone that wants to wait almost another year to get a Mach E just because it says 2022 on it cancel your order now and move my 2021 up in the list please.

I suspect there won't be much in the way of changes from 2021 to 2022. A late 2021 shouldn't really differ in quality from an early 2022.

The 2021 GTs will be relatively rare since their production run will be only a few months. Not sure if that's a good thing, bad thing, or doesn't matter. Nobody really cares about 2012 Model S or 2017 Model 3s, do they?

Other than they were the first years and had some design flaws and issues, and those would be the ones to avoid

I'm thinking more in terms of rarity than reliability. There were only a few thousand 2012 Model S and 2017 3s.

Do you think the 2021 GTs will have similar problem issues to the early S and 3s? The GTs are being built after tens of thousands of earlier trims have already gone down the line so I'm not sure comparisons to early Teslas is a good one to make.
