I find this interesting because I have a 2021 ER RWD Premium (305 EPA Range), and tend to get 3.5 to 3.7 miles/kW efficiency using Engage mode. I use 3.5 miles/kW for planning in ABRP. It could be my driving style, which allowed me to get good MPG when I had a Fusion Hybrid. The reason I went with the ER RWD was to get the most range possible and it is interesting to hear GT performance owners seeing a difference. I should try Wisper mode and see if my car's efficiency improves.

It will be interesting to see a similar test done with their GT Performance.

My guess is 2.6-2.7 mi/kWh. That was my warm weather flat-Florida efficiency.

3.5 miles/kw is amazing. We just came back from a harsh trip (about 3,000' grade change) aiming at a speed limit 75mph and hot 90F with AC blowing. We got 2.2 miles/kw from a Premium ER AWD. Hot or cold doesn't seem to matter much or either my battery is starting to degrade.

Are you getting 3.5 on the highway? What speeds if so? Thanks!
In my CR-1, I get around 3.1-3.7 miles/kWh when traveling at around 73 mph. That is, if I don't have a head wind and if the outside temperatures aren't lower than about 28 degrees F; High outside temperatures don't tend to have much impact on me.

I enjoy high speeds and high accelerations around local roads. But I don't need to drive at excessive speeds when on road trips.

My ER battery is so overkill for my daily driving, I hardly look at my range and only glance at my efficiency.

Speed, headwinds and elevation are the biggest efficiency killers. Hmm, just like in a gas car 😁 Well, okay at highway speeds gas cars are their most efficient but hard acceleration and braking ain't good for mpg.

After almost a year with my car, range and efficiency have never been a problem for me personally. BEVs will only get better from here as well.

Drive mode will not affect efficiency unless it causes you to drive differently in different modes.

I don’t think battery deg impacts efficiency, just total usable energy (range at a given efficiency).

I forgot to add. Previous trip we used 57% and this trip we used 64% for the same part of the trip (123 miles). The AC was on for this trip but it should consume not more than 2-3%.

Last July I did Phoenix to Carlsbad, via I-8 through San Diego. Drove 75mph most of the way. First charging stop was in El Centro, 226 miles, and used 75% of my battery. That is 3.4 mile/kwh. I have also done Phoenix to Tucson at 75mph, 153 miles using 49% of my battery, which was 3.5 mile/kwh. I do not rely on the mile/kwh in the car, it has significant error due to poor resolution. For example, it likes to only display 3.1, 3.5 or 3.7. It has +/- .2 tolerance the way it works.

I have found in most cases I never really need to charge to 80% once I am on my trips. I have found 15-20 minutes charging stops gives me 90-120 miles of highway range, which is usually plenty.

I have a California Route 1 AWD ER and frequently drive I-5 for about 150 miles at 75-85 mph. In the summer I got around 2.9 miles/KwH in the winter that drops to 2.7 and during some hard winter rains it drops to 2.4. I was kind of shocked by the drop caused by a heavy rain.

GT vs CR1 gives me about 10% difference. As expected GT has better regeneration return so on some short hilly trips I got same or almost same miles per kW.

CR1 is unbelievable on almost flat trips, if I have medium traffic that keeps my speed to 50-65 mph I would get 3.8-4.1 miles per kW, same situation with GT 3.3-3.7.

if speed increases to 80-90 mph than I see 2.1-2.5 miles per kW for CR1. I just recently drove 187 miles to EA and spent 93% of my battery, temperature was 34-38F most of the time so heater works at speed 11-2,pushing 65-66F air most of the time. Speed was 80-90 most of the time in I-5. 280, 101, 85 and 152 I passed 70-80. I had similar trip about year ago in GT, it was summer so AC was on. I kept speed 75-80mph and had about same battery state 5-7%
