2024 Buick Electra E5

The latest GM Ultium-EV. It looks really good imo, has more traditional SUV dimensions (Model X height- 66.3", 192.6" length), and has a better 2nd row window design than the Blazer EV. Had this been available at the time of my Blazer EV reservation, I would have gone for this instead- not really keen on the wagon like dimensions of the Blazer EV.

Instrument panel looks borrowed from Cadillac (albeit slightly shorter and lower res) but still looks gorgeous. Wish GM had upped the range though (~ 300 miles).

Haha, I wouldn't call it vaporware. The Lyriq is just taking its sweet time, Blazer EV on the way. I imagine the Ultium is a decent platform but they're just having problems scaling up production.

too bad that GM has now entered the "Ignore me zone" They are there because despite launching a bunch of EV's in the last year or so... their entire Ultium production run would fit in one Walmart parking lot.

I am not saying it looks bad, but it looks like the Ford Escape with a facelift. As in it got botox for the lines and the eyes got squintier.

I would get this over the Blazer EV bc of its traditional SUV styling/better seating height. Also if it's being assembled in China, might mean less of a waiting time?

Recent photos of E5 Avenir trim. The blue/white interior color scheme is gorgeous.

The Electra E5 launched with 3 different range configurations; Standard (338 miles), Long-range (385 miles) and Avenir/AWD (375 miles). Unclear if these are WLTP ranges but it's interesting as Ultium platforms in the US don't have such variability.

Correction: these ranges were tested under CLTC conditions. So EPA ratings should be much lower.

Latest word is that this will be sold in the US starting late 2024 as a 2025 model. Will probably be heavily delayed (lol) unless GM builds in China and imports here.

Wouldn't mind one. I like its traditional SUV stance and gorgeous interior, but Ultium has a poor charging speed.
