With the reduction in "usable range", is there some possibility that they are building in a buffer of some sort?

Luckily it doesn’t confirm squat.

EVERY order guide since 2021 has had typos.

This is likely just a copy/paste typo from a 2021 order guide.

Anyone have a window sticker for a 2025 they can show?
Yep. It looks exactly the same. Mystery solved.

Ford started producing the 2025 on January 6th.
I really don’t understand the logic here. All OEMs have been selling 2025s for several months now. There are a few Ford 2024s still in transit. And virtually all in store inventory is 2024s. The Ford web site still shows 2024 information.

Why does Ford do this? It contributes a loss in value for something that is paperwork related. Does anyone know?

I'm sceptical

Sceptical of the document
Sceptical of all the conjecture
VERY sceptical of a different battery between trim levels

Interesting that the extended battery is 88 kwh for select and premium, while 91 kwh for GT. That is a change.
Most of us bet a simple over the air update could make that 88kWh to 91 again.

Ford started producing the 2025 on January 6th.
There was a plan announced months ago to start production on Jan 6, but I've seen no indication that it ever happened. Some forum members have gotten February production estimates for 2025s, but I have not seen any production scheduled for January. And ford.com is still showing " Build and Price" for 2024 Mach-E, no sign of the 2025s yet.

How are you able to confirm that the January 6 date actually happened? I'm not saying it didn't happen, just have not seen any solid info myself, and am interested in the timing because I will be in the market for a 2025 soon.

I can't confirm that they switched over on the 6th because I do not live and work in Cuautitlan, but as I was looking through Vehicle Visibility today to try to find an in-production vehicle to get a window sticker, I did find a bunch of 2025 orders that were sent to the plant and scheduled for production, some as soon as next week. Also, the dealer website lists plant allocation as 2025 model year for this past week.

My 2 guesses are cost cutting and Ford believes that overall range will be the same or better with added cooling seats and heat pump on a smaller usable battery.

Or a combination of both. The Flash model of the Lightning is getting a smaller extended range battery as well.

Another could be that the battery health isn't trending the way they want on the higher usable battery. If you can believe the way Ford tracks battery health, My Mach-E has significant overall lower health than my Lightning, with roughly half the miles on it.

A NOOB to full EV, what’s a smaller usable capacity mean? It sounds like less range to me.
Important caveat: ALL ELSE being equal. Ford has made other changes (decontenting) to the vehicle as well. And, as others have noted, they’ve put in a heat pump. So, it’s tough to tell what the net effect of all these changes is.

I would almost buy the “typo” rationale, except the standard range battery doesn’t match up. It’s a totally different number. I’m thinking Ford may have done something like switch the LR battery to that lithium phosphate chemistry or something?

I’d bet is mostly for marketing.

Having slightly more capacity on the GTs means they won’t have as large of a difference in range vs. the slightly more efficient non-GT 4X. So someone cross shopping the Premium 4X and GT would be more likely to buy the more expensive GT because it won’t be a big range hit to upgrade if they had the same battery capacity.

I think the 2025 Premium Long Range really does have a 88 kWh battery. When it was first reported here on the forum, I thought there is no way they would reduce capacity. But I think the documentation is accurate, and it really is 88 kWh.

Has there been any reports regarding the use of LFP in various MME models? I wonder if they managed to get 88 kWh of LFP battery in the Premium? If not, then maybe they are just providing more buffer for battery life benefit?

Or it’s a typo, like they’ve had in every order guide every year. 2021 they told us the passenger seat was manual and the drivers seat was power.

The guide also had the size of the Brembo brakes on a GT and GTPE…. Way off.

2023 the website said the 360 camera was $1900 and the order guide said it was free.

Sure, it’s possible they lowered capacity. But my first question would be- Why?

With the history of typos with Ford, it doesn’t surprise me that this would be another one.

Interesting they got rid of the 3 year BlueCruise plan option. Because it was part of the MSRP, the cost for the 3 year plan would also be part of the residual on a lease even though it would be expired at the end of a 3 year lease. On a 3 year lease it was something like $30/month for BlueCruise if you got the 3 year plan as optional equipment rather than paying the subscription month to month.
