Worked through the configurator this morning.

We are looking for eAWD + Extended range battery. Price of a GT is $2,505 more than a Premium like equipped with the sport appearance package.

I didn't like the prior year GT's wheels and the prior years performance upgrade only came with summer tires (maybe that changed somewhere along the way).

Seems like beyond price, the Premium's advantage is cooled seats and I think that's about it? Ford is saying that they have improved the ride of the Premium, but will it be as nice as Magnaride? We're not going to be doing the twisties with this vehicle, but would like a smooth riding vehicle. I like the speed bump of the GT and realize you can also bump even more with the upgrade.

For that price difference, the GT seems to make more sense than a Premium.

Am I missing anything? Other thoughts or considerations?

One word: Magneride. That alone is worth more than the price differential. The GT also has larger front brakes and a larger inverter. Summer tires were an option on the 2024. They’re not even available on the 2025. ??

I love the Sport Appearance Package and I love ventilated seats, but ultimately if you value the extra performance of the GT, there's no getting around that the only way to get GT level performance is to get a GT.

Well, this is going to be my wife's primary vehicle. She doesn't share my love for GT level performance. Of course I will get to drive it often enough (I have a Lightning). She would like a better, smoother ride though and maybe Magnaride is the key there...

Decisions, decisions....

The GT also has larger front brakes
It looks like the Sport Appearance package includes the larger brakes from the GT so it's not specific to the GT.

I agree, it's worth it for the suspension and power upgrades. Plus 20" wheels, more bolstered seats, and one year of BlueCruise. Since the appearance package comes with a GT grill, it might have the lighted emblem.

It sounds like your wife needs to go drive a Premium and a GT and see which ride she likes better. She may not want/need the extra GT stuff, but it could be worth the potential difference in ride quality if she doesn't love the Premium suspension.

That would be ideal once the '25's hit the lots. I think this would be very subjective and vary - if the same dealer had both models that would be better.

I'm hoping there are actual reviews soon that might provide more input. We drove a '24 Premium last month - I honestly didn't notice it being bouncy/bumpy, etc. as some have reported. But I don't think I have driven a Magnaride equipped MachE either.. As an aside the Lightning (like my former Raptor) feels like a magic carpet ride...

We would like to order soon than later too.. .so there's that. :)

I’m going thru the exact same decision. I‘m not a fan of the Premium’s glossy wheels and I don’t like the glossy black wheel arches on the Premium. If I were to decide on the Premium I would see if I could swap my 2021 FE wheels. I love the stitching on the Premium seats.

As far as the GT - the range is 20 miles less. I still would need to upgrade the wheels ($1,700) or swap my wheels. I haven’t driven a GT but the MagnaRide sounds pretty good. I also haven’t seen or sat in the GT’s seats. Also I would need to check on the Insurance cost vs my 2021 Mach-E FE which I love except for the antiquated Blue Cruise 1.1.

I purchased my 2021 FE because that was the only way to get the $7,500 credit. I probably would lease my next Mach-E.

The documentation I have seen just says “Brembo branded front brakes.” Since the older GT had the smaller front brakes and red Brembo calipers, it’s very possible these are the same part. I guess we won’t know until someone gets one. ?‍♂?

I think the GT exterior looks a bit nicer than the Premium with the Sport Appearance package. However, I think the red stiched seats are really nice on the Premium.

I might like the 19" wheels vs. 20's...

The insurance question between the two is interesting. I'll have to find a VIN for each and send them to my insurance person.

Leasing seems to make sense as Ford is applying the $7,500 credit.

Like Steve said. The Sport Appearance Package just has red painted calipers with the Brembo marking. ALL Mach-E brakes are Brembo’s up front. They just choose to paint them red on the SAP. The GT’s calipers and rotors are larger than any other Mach-E.

Having driven a Premium 4X for 4 years now...if I was getting a Mach-E again I would get the GT.

For me, the only downside of the GT is that I cannot get the light space grey seat color.

I think you guys are right. I think I'm giving Ford too much credit for including the GT brakes. The cost difference between the Premium + SAP is only $2500 so it's a much better deal to just get the GT. Anyone noticed the GT and Rally get one year of BlueCruise compared to 3 months for the others?

Also, I wonder if the SAP will get the lighted pony?

I'm not sure you really need to wait. I don't know if I've seen anything indicating there are any major changes to the suspension of either model. So if the most you care about is just ride comfort, you should be able to test the 24s or whatever you could fine. Especially if you've already driven that premium.
