Today on my way in to work it has failed a 2nd time at 32k mileage. No warning was going up a hill and then limp mode per say. First repair was at 23k, the only problem I really have with Ford is they will not give me a rental car for my inconvience at any dealership in san antonio not even for the recalls WTF!

When was the first replacement, was it the supposedly more robust part?

Yes please let us know the date of your first replacement....

Also call the Ford BEV team, info in the mega thread on the HVBJB. They should help you get reimbursed for a rental car.

Sorry for you to have to go thru this again.

also not good for a mach E community that the new more “robust” HVBJB failed if that is actually what happened

good luck and follow @scoopman recommendations

1st time was back in September 2022 took like 3 weeks and no rental car. I live 40 miles from San Antonio.
If it was replaced in September 2022, you should have the new HVBJB. This may be noteworthy if it was a revised junction box that failed.

Yes it was the new HVBJB, made a whistle during acceleration. It didn't even last 10K :(
This is a bummer that your car failed in some way again.

Do you have a OBD-II reader? these cost $20 on Amazon, and with one and a free app Car Scanner, you can read the Diagnostic Test Codes (DTC) that your car sets to let the dealer techs know what is precisely wrong with your car.

I wonder whether it is your HVBJB that failed again -- it seems to be pretty rare that the redesigned part fails, so I just wonder if something else is causing your issue.

In my experience, an HVBJB failure makes no sound.

No OBD-II reader. By whistle I mean it was noticeably louder upon replacement during acceleration.

Did you make a request to the BEV team for rental car reimbursement? It seems Ford itself will make the payment and not the dealer. Dealer’s may provide a loaner but many dealers do not have them.

They don’t do a rental until they assess the issue and a part replacement or similar is needed? Or do others have dealers who are more generous?

I brought my car in for a problem to a dealer 1200 miles from my home , they gave me a loaner without any questions and before I contacted the BEV team.

all depends on the dealer
