Second HVBJB Failure (New HVBJB)?

They did change the part number so you would think something changed. I do not believe the overall design changed either. Just better/beefier contactors. If you have seen one you can see there is not much space available for change. I just speculate that the HVBJB manufacturer now installs the most robust contactor that can fit into the existing space. I also read, not saying it is fact, that remanufactured HVBJB are being sent out as replacements so no matter what it could only be a component swap if that is a fact.

There were several members (myself included) who have gotten remanufactured HVBJBs. I believe that the bulk of the replacements are now remanufactured units. ?‍?

Update: Confirmed by dealer HVBJB Failure #2.

I had the new updated part fail on mine after 10,000 miles on it. So far I'm another 17,000 or so in and no problems so far.

Not that I'm aware of. IMHO the new part plus recall software makes that extremely unlikely. Worst seems to be repeat SVS messages with the new part, but the car still drives.

For anyone monitoring timelines, I dropped the car off the night of Oct. 10 after business hours and the car was repaired as of today (Oct 17) with a remanufactured part. Let's hope I get more than 8,000 miles before this thing fails again.

On Monday I will know for sure, but it looks like my car now has the replaced HVBJB fail too. No indication, was just a bit cold (0 degree celsius) and the car committed suicide with a lot of fun noises and warning lights after a visit to the grocery store.

Sorry to hear that. How many miles did you have on the new HVJBJ?
