Hi,

I have a 2021 Mache and was taking it to service (Odometer 35740). I keep getting precollision assist not available everytime i go over uneven surface. Dealer was charging me 1300 service + 299 diagnostic fee.
I declined the service which included - battery cleaning and anti corrosion application, rodent protection oil application. I asked for service listed in fordpass app which was inspection + tire rotation.
1. Wanted to check if any of above service is actually required.
2. They told me they need to charge diagnostic fee and then enter part number to see if my extended warranty would cover it so I pay the deductible of 100. Is that correct. I thought there was a TSB covering loose cable which I suspect is the case. I am not sure if their diagnostic is going to show this. what should I tell them?
3. Should I ask them to replace my 12V battery given I am at 4 year mark?

1. None of that is required and just upsell
2. Not sure
3. With our new 12v alerts I am just keeping my OG 12v until the car tells me it needs to be replaced.

4. My 30k service was a tire rotation. And at 50k my only service has been tire rotations and me replacing my cabin air filter. My dealer has suggested nothing extra. I did also replace tires (not routine service) and had a door lock fail (also not routine service)

2) TSBs aren't a warranty coverage. TSB's tell a tech how to fix a problem. So, they do their diagnostic, and if it's a warranty-covered item you pay the deductible. If it's not, you pay the diagnostic fee and whatever they want for the repair.

1. I have had my 2022 MME serviced at each 10,000 mile mark, at each time I only had the EV package completed for under $200 without any vehicle issues. Recently, I had the 50,000 mile service at 50,436 miles completed. During this service I had the same EV package completed, but was told my original tires need to be replaced without the representative urging me to replace the tires there. (I bought the tires elsewhere due to pricing and availability for a different tire.) No other service was required.

2. There was one time I had a sensor issue that turned out to be caused by the placement of my license plate cover that was determined by pulling the error codes. They did not charge a fee, but I guess they could have assessed a fee. Is there another Ford near you?

3. I have not reached the 4 year mark; however, I drive a lot for work, on the weekends, and we road trip during the summer so I have definitely demanded a lot from the battery, thankfully, without any issues.

Good luck.

It is most likely the coax cable to the front camera. My 2021 was having that problem, I could hit the plastic cover with my hand while driving and make the warning come on.
I replaced the window due to a crack and when the window is removed the coax is exposed and has to be manipulated to be put back together. The coax completely failed and after that I could not even engage cruise control.
I thought about fixing it, but I just traded the car in for a Tesla.

Thanks, it was the coax cable and they say replacing it is not covered under any warranty. @Ford Motor Company what is the point of extended warranty if it doesn't cover common issues due to manufacturing defect.

Haha, I am not replacing the cable. Will drive it like that and request ford to cover it.

Thank you for pointing that out. I had forgotten to update the thread. I did give it a try, and it seems to have fixed the issue. I only opened and closed the camera as my spring was fine. If I had posted on the thread, I could have saved my $250 diagnostic fee. It’s ridiculous that the dealership was charging me $3,000 to fix nothing.
