3D Navigation map view - first time saw this in downtown Los Angeles! New or old story ?

Sorry, if this an old question but my MME is 1 month old and reached 1000 miles this weekend.

Wife & I went to dinner in downtown Los Angeles near the Union Rescue Mission.

When leaving the parking structure, using Ford's built in navigation, the map changed from the familiar 2D overview to a 3D map view which I have never seen.

3D map even breaks down to which lane I was in.

Never have I seen this even on the '22 Lightning's built in nav.

Is this an old or recent feature ?
How do I get this everytime I enter a navigation destination ?

Not new, but you only really see it in large metro downtowns.

Thanks - that explains why I don't travel to large metro downtown areas much.

I try to avoid DTLA - it's an urban concrete jungle...

Just a neat map view I have never seen and would like that type of detail in suburban areas...

Definitely, it’s a cool view.

We've had our MME since Jan '22, and I've never seen that view. I guess that says a lot about where we go. Or don't.

Have you driven to your capital or historic / downtown area ??

Ummm. No. I live 50 miles from the nearest mall. Amish communities are closer to me than the capital. And the few times I've gone there, I'd parked at a remote metro stop and trained my way in.

Apple maps has this neat 3d view as well but only happens in areas they have mapped out with 3d, i was outside NYC at the time i saw it.
