They used to send a message through the app after an update which I've kept but unfortunately they stopped doing that.

Has anyone actually seen the map view mentioned in the posted release notes?

• A new map view has been added, allowing you to visibly search for nearby chargers and quickly see what's available.

The app has been renamed Public Charging but I don't see a way to generate a map view.

I think this is a web app so I guess Ford has just not updated the backend that will serve up the code with the map option.

I take a photo of the car and FordPass update screens and the SYNC version screen after every update, so I could create a chronological list like that if I had to.
That's what I do as well. When I forget what came last, I scroll through my phone picture library.

Yeah, this is something I really hope Ford fixes in the future. We should be able to see every OTA update that was applied to our cars and when it occurred. We should not have to manually keep track.
Where’s the fun in that, Mike? ??

Software Update 6.14.0

Your vehicle has been updated with following:

Enhancements to Digital Infotainment

We've listened to your feedback and we're making changes to your SYNC system so that it's simpler and easier to use on the go. Please continue to send your feedback and we will continue to work on improvements. Changes we've made in this update:

• Replaced the Display Brightness Slider with +/- buttons to make it easier to use on your drive.

• Combined the USB and Bluetooth Media sources into a single app for easy access.

• Added new Onboard Scales, Zone Lighting, and Smart Hitch apps for eligible vehicles.

• Moved the Sketch app into the "Entertainment" page so it's easier to find.

• Updated the icons on the top bar to make them easier to see.

• Added a phone battery icon on phone app screens.

Public Charging

• The Public Charging application, previously known as Charge Assist, can be located in your application drawer, where other apps live.

• You can now start and pay for charging on the BlueOval™ Charge Network without requiring a smartphone. Filter by charge speed and network while staying informed about real-time information about new chargers, such as availability and those under repair.

• A new map view has been added, allowing you to visibly search for nearby chargers and quickly see what's available.

Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time.

I know I'm going to be in the minority on this one but I don't really care about that. I drive my Mustang every day to and from work, to go get groceries, load a new tv in the back, take the kids to Lacrosse practice, etcetera.

Occasionally the screen tells me I have an update that will be installed which is great but my life doesn't revolve around it or how other people might be getting them before me, the order the updates come in, what they mean or how an X in a new UI is dumb as fuck.

Honestly and I mean this in the most sincere way possible. This forum is for the fringe not for your everyday point A to point B owner.

I don't think it is unusual to want to know specifically how the repair technician repaired my car. Software updates are no different.

I understand you may just drop your car off at the dealer, let them do whatever they want, and then pickup up when it is ready, but I am not like that. I want to know exactly what they did. I sometimes even ask for the failed part so I can see it for myself.

So I want to know what the update changed on my car, and when it happened. It's my car, and I should know, if I want to know. You don't want to know. Awesome. My wife is like that, so I take care of all the car stuff. Hopefully you have someone in your life who can do that for you.

I do agree we are a fringe group, but my point is there are a lot of people who what to know as much as possible about the cars they drive. It isn't just people in this forum. Providing the ability to see the list of OTAs that have been applied to our cars would be helpful for a lot of people.

Anyway, I am not returning my car because there is no list. It's a 1st world problem, if it is even a "problem". It is really just something I would like to have.

BTW - I don't really care about the icons either. I like to spin the tires and drive fast around corners. That is why I have this car.

And yet, here you are, commenting in thread about the latest software update some people are seeing. What did you expect to find here?

I don't know why I'm supposed to care that you don't care.

• A new map view has been added, allowing you to visibly search for nearby chargers and quickly see what's available.
Edit: I completely missed that this bullet point was under the Public Charging section. So my focus on the built-in maps/navigation is a little misdirected. Apologies in advance.

Good point. I am not sure where that is. The built-in maps/navigation has always had the ability search for chargers though I'm not sure I would call it "visibly search" as it just brings up a list of nearest chargers and you can filter by charge speed. Do they mean the blue square markers shown on the map:
Ford Mustang Mach-E 6.14.0 Software Update just installed 1000001547

While I take photos of SYNC and OTA software update versions with each update, I just realized that I have not been taking a photo of the built-in maps/nav software version. I'll do that from now on. Has anyone been tracking this? Here is the version I have now:
Ford Mustang Mach-E 6.14.0 Software Update just installed 1000001548

There is a filter in the sort results popup in the built-in maps/nav that I hadn't really paid attention to (Ford network, available/open, no cost), so I'm dropping a photo in case this is something new:
Ford Mustang Mach-E 6.14.0 Software Update just installed 1000001550

And I've never really used the built-in maps/nav except when I'm within 30 minutes of a charger destination to force battery preconditioning since I prefer Google Maps but I guess I'm exploring it a little more because of the NACS adapter and I never noticed the A-in-a-circle by the search bar before:
Ford Mustang Mach-E 6.14.0 Software Update just installed 1000001552

It has a feature I wish Google Maps had where you can choose where it will focus the search:
Ford Mustang Mach-E 6.14.0 Software Update just installed 1000001551

I don't recall Google Maps allowing me to search near the destination. I'll need to play with this feature in the built-in maps/nav to see how good it is.

I am looking forward to the built-in maps/nav gaining the ability to support Tesla Superchargers for searching (yes, Public Charging (formerly Charge Assist) will let you find them now) and automatically adding as charge stops on routes. But it's not a big deal yet since I don't have my NACS adapter yet (and no I won't buy/use a 3rd party adapter). Even better for me will be when Android Auto w/Google Maps can natively automatically add the charge stops.

No. Just like you, the other person expressed an opinion that people like you go inside a winery and tell the wine tasters there that they could not care less about wine. Nobody is going to ask you to leave or not say anything. You’re just going to be perceived as a mild (albeit sober lol) hypocrite.
