My car recently shipped on 8/2 with an estimated date of 8/3-8/9. I figured the only way it could arrive in time is if they truck it directly from Lecheria. I checked in with Ford chat yesterday to get the latest status for my car. To my disappointment they stated that it's on Railcar # KCS 008350 from Lecheria.

I think this means it's on a train to Kansas City which implies at least 10 days to get there. Assuming it trucks from Kansas City straight to the dealer that's another 3 days at least. So the earliest we're looking at is probably 2 weeks from August 2nd with a more likely scenario of 3-4 weeks if they need to train it to Richmond, CA.

Of course this is all just speculation based off of what I read from other posters from the forum. @WNKent who was built just two days after me says the dealer is estimating 8/19 which sounds more correct than the Ford website.
All new cars bound for the United States from the Ford plant in Cuautitlan, near Mexico City, are loaded aboard the Kansas City Southern railway. It took mine about eight days from when it was marked "shipped" from the factory to arrive at the "handoff" rail yard across the border in Laredo, TX. From there, it took an additional three or four days to arrive at the KCS railhead at Richards-Gebaur, MO near Kansas City.

From there, depending on its destination, your car may be loaded aboard another train or a truck convoy. Recently, Ford seems to have been using trucking companies in lieu of railways due to a possible rail strike. At that point, Ford often loses track of the precise location and progress of the shipment, since it's out of their hands. My car, which would ordinarily have made the trip from KC to Minnesota by rail, was trucked more than 1,000 miles directly from the Richards-Gebaur rail yard to my dealer in the Dakotas. My dealer said they had to clean a lot of bugs off the car when it arrived!

Of course, YMMV, but that's what happened with my car's recent journey.

Presumably price protection. But the dealer should be willing to honor the original price and get reimbursed by Ford themselves.
Yes, you shouldn't have to pay sales tax on the price increase.

Thursday will be 2 weeks past the delivery window. Beginning to wonder if it will ever get here. It's still in Richards Gibaur, MO, which is only 7 hours away. I've just been trying not to think about it, but when I drive by the dealership I look for car haulers. A grabber blue vehicle would stand out like crazy on the lot, it's basically empty of new cars. Carry on!

I worry about the 12v battery with the car just sitting there for so long... this is ridiculous.

I feel like the shipping process is more painful than waiting for the car to be built.
I complete agree.

Waiting for a production week felt like waiting for a new season of a TV show or a sequel to your favorite book. You get really into it when you place the order but the hype dies downa bit because of the lack of updates and ETAs. Eventually you find other things in life to focus on or worry about. You stop thinking about how a Mach-E might be in your driveway in a few months.

But once the production week arrived, you're set. You know the week your car is supposed to be born and you're eagerly awaiting it. Every shift in date at this stage feels like Ford should've done a better job planning. But it's ok because the week is set and you just need to wait for it to come. At this point you think that there's a day when your Mach-E will exist. And it's no longer just an idea.

Your car is built and now you know for certain that it's going to be yours. At this point Ford is even giving you estimates of when it'll arrive to your dealer and what you should be expecting when you take it home. You know it's built and you know it's coming but you have no way to tell when or how. This feels super stressful because you know that there's a car out there with your name on it but you can't get it.

At this point you just really want to know when it's going to get here. Ford is giving you updates but the estimated dates are way off. They actually have no idea but they just keep telling you, "it'll come next week." The dealer has no idea either and your salesman gets tired of you asking for the latest status everyday so he starts to ignore you. You're obsessed with finding out where your car is and when it's coming. You know it exists and you know it'll probably take a month but Ford is saying, "it'll come soon, it'll come soon." At this point you just hope and pray that Ford is right but deep down you know they have no idea and we're really at the mercy of the shipping companies.

When mine was offloaded in Jacksonville for the 2 hr drive to Orlando it took 6 days for it to happen, same amount of time it took from KS to Jacksonville on the train. Ridiculous. Gladly it finally arrived and have been driving it for two weeks. Worth the wait.

Funny thing is Ford has updated my delivery from 8/15-8/21 to 8/09-8/15 and Monday is 8/15, go figure.

I ordered in San Jose as well. Mine shipped on 7/31. Original Delivery Date was 7/29 to 8/04 -- yet received update 3 days ago with new date of 8/11 to 8/17. I believe our cars may be travelling together. I will try to get my rail car info tomorrow. :)

Order Date: 2/12 | Build Date: 6/29

My car finally made it to Phoenix yesterday. My dealership is about 20 miles away from where the car is. The end of my delivery window is 8/19, was looking good for that to happen. Until today, when they moved my delivery window to 9/15-21. What the heck is going on now?!

This is really good news!!!

I received the same email last night (previous window was 8/11 to 8/18). As of Sunday and yesterday, car is in Richards Missouri (arrived Friday) but the system has not been updated in 5 days (8/12).

We believe it may have left Richards already for Oregon (I am in SF, ordered in San Jose) as they are avoiding California ports due to possibility of another strike.

Hoping it arrives in another week or so.
