I'm beginning to think that Ford Chat is mostly useless in tracking the delivery of our cars. Today I chatted with them and they told me my car is still at the rail yard in Kansas City, assigned to an Accelerated Services convoy. But when I contacted Accelerated Services on Friday, they told me my car was scheduled for delivery to my dealership on Saturday! (The dealership is more than 1,000 miles northwest of Kansas City...)

Ford Chat seems to have access to very limited information on the movement of our cars, especially once they're turned over to a railroad or trucking company.

Tomorrow I'll contact Accelerated Services again to see if my car was actually delivered to the dealership over the weekend. Perhaps I'll wake up to a message from my dealer saying the car is now on their lot! ?

Question for those of you who are planning to use Ford Options financing: Does it make sense to pre-qualify via the Ford Credit website, or just wait until you get to the dealership and apply there in person?

I have a long relationship with Ford Motor Credit, which should help me get the best rates available. But I'm thinking by applying online I could save some time at the dealer.
You can apply via Ford Credit and dealer can pull report there
Please note that the report is only good for 30 days. I would wait until car is delivered to dealer.

Pick up car in the morning or early afternoon so that you have time.

Officially in day 1 of of my delivery window. I'm out of town next week so fingers crossed.
Day 3 of my delivery window. Accelerated Services truck delayed, currently in South Dakota; still 600 road miles away from my dealership. Their new ETA is tomorrow but could be later in the week.

At least Accelerated Services personnel are cooperative when I call them. They seem happy to share tracking information about the truck with me.

Mach E has been sitting in Jacksonville since last Thursday, after it was unloaded from the train, Ford chat still doesn't know which carrier is driving it down to Orlando, sad part they are still showing delivery date of August 9th, and its only 2 hour drive. So close and yet so far….

Our friends in the 6/20 build group have started taking delivery. Hopefully we get our first one in this group soon.

Ford Chat may be telling you it's still sitting in Kansas City. But that might not be reflective of the actual situation.

It's becoming more apparent that Ford Chat doesn't always have up-to-date information on the location of our cars or the progress of their shipments. For example, Ford is still telling me my car is sitting at the rail yard in KC, because that's the most recent information they have. But I contacted the common carrier separately and was able to extract much more timely information from them.

This is the reason why many people are surprised when their cars show up at their dealership far in advance of expectations. Who knows, that might just happen to you in the next few days!

Saw my car today. Run through all processes as the dealer learned how to apply Ford Options. Stuck at the final stage without greenlight from ford credit. Damn.

When you chat with Ford Support, the agent should be able to give you the rail line and car number (or shipping company and convoy number) that will be handling your car. From there you can make an effort to contact that transport company to find out more.

The trouble seems to be that Ford only gets notified of certain events, such as when one of our cars is loaded or unloaded at a terminal. Otherwise they apparently have no way of knowing the location of a particular car once it's in the custody of a railroad or trucking company. You have to contact that transport company for more information. Some of them, like the railways, have automated tracking numbers that you can find elsewhere on the Forum. They don't always work well but if they do, you will have more information on the whereabouts of your car than Ford does!
