The last hurdle: the dealer experience.... The MME I ordered a year ago (built 3 months ago) was in very good shape and well-prepped. No tricks or games. I decided to buy it and give it to my daughter. (I bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5 while waiting for the Ford and decided I liked it best for myself and spouse didn't want either one.) However, the dealer's version of "price protection" was that I was to pay $2000 more for the MME I ordered a year ago than was on the offer sheet and the dealer would apply for the refund that would be conveyed to me in x months. Not only that, but I was also charged sales tax on the additional $2000, which amounted to around $155 that apparently won't be refunded. Dealer took no responsibility; everything was Ford's doing. The $1500 deposit that I paid a year ago was applied to the purchase price. It was all quite cordial, but I told them I would be restating my "annoyance" over this "price protection" matter and the long periods of no communication about the unexplained delays during any subsequent reviews. (I will also ask them to seek a refund of the inappropriate sales tax.) After one day, Daughter loves the new EV.

The dealer also said they had signed up for the Ford EV program and would be expending large $$ amounts to provide the required equipment, training, and chargers. (I didn't ask them if that included the switchover to VinView. Their "poor" performance on new vehicle tracing was blamed on absence of updates from Ford.)

Best of luck getting the rebate check. Most were able to. I was not. Glad your daughter likes the car.

Congratulations, BigFeets! All this time we thought it was for you. What a nice gesture! Hope she enjoys it as much as we do. We fired off a scathing letter to Ford about the delays and lack of communication. I'm sure they'll get right on that! Have a great holiday season!

Congrats! Great to hear your ordering journey, overall, ended on a positive note!

Thanks. Three days in... They're headed for Death Valley camping (600 mi round trip) with charging stop at World's Largest Thermometer. That's one approach to "range anxiety".

edit: EA charging station in Baker, CA has 12-150kWh chargers with a sun shade! AND there were two red MME there at the same time! (Also, in Death Valley, charge points at RV campground, Oasis Hotel, and NP office.)

That was the original plan, back in Dec '21. I wanted to trade in my beloved 17-yr-old sports car because used car prices were very high then. As the months passed, the MME delivery dates started to drift away so I started a search for a new, available EV that I liked, e.g. MME or Hyundai Ioniq 5. I waitlisted at several dealers for these EVs. A green Hi5 very much to my liking was offered with dealer markup and they accepted the trade-in valuation. I took it, figuring the trade-in markup offset the dealer markup. At that point, I decided to "keep" the MME order and decide what to do with it whenever it arrived, not thinking it would be another 9 months. Due to Fed tax credit and price protection promises, I still was thinking of buying it and offer my daughter the choice between the two, MME or Hi5. Later on, I decided the Hi5 was just right for me and instead offered the MME to my daughter if all our expectations were met. The last three months of waiting were real hell because of this self-imposed situation, the doubts/uncertainty about the MME delivery. Anyway, I too expect to hang onto my grudge with Ford over the 5 "extra" months of waiting and having to pay sales tax on the "price protection" $2000 that the dealer says Ford will someday pay back.

Congrats Bigfeets (and all others)! It's been frustrating even on my end hearing the lot of you say how long it took for the shipping and delivery, but I'm finally happy to hear everyone (I think?) has theirs now. Hope your daughter is enjoying it!

So, did everybody in this post receive their MME?

Sadly, I am still waiting for my MME to make its way from the Railyard to the Dealership.

If i ordered a 2022 and receive a 2022 model, do I have to pay the new, higher price, and then wait for Ford to make up the difference? Or this just on 2021 orders that converted to 2022? Assuming we are all 2022's on this board as we should all have the same build week.

I am sorry you are still waiting, hopefully soon.
The adjustment I was talking about is for people that order the 2022 model but before the 2000$ price increase on Dec 8 of 2021. If you ordered in 2022 this does not apply to you

Finally home after exactly 300 days since I ordered on 2/22/22. Couple of things:
  • Never even sat in one before arriving at the dealership. The drive is incredible. The instantaneous response is awesome. So dialed in. I have not experience with the standard suspension, but the setup with the Magneride is great. Firm but still forgiving, no body roll.
  • Galpin Ford in LA, sales person Vartan: everything was super easy. Funny enough, I had taken a few pictures of his Mach-E at the LA Auto Show a few weeks back.
    • No hard sell on any add-ons or warranties.
    • I had filled out the forms the night before for financing, so everything was ready to review and sign.
    • The car was fully charged (I know, 100% not ideal) and they did not drill holes for the front plate!
    • Sales guy knew the car very well, since he has one, and got me all setup and showed me most of the features.
    • X-Plan and Options discounts applied, no markup of any kind
  • What else to say other than this car is awesome. I was so torn about the color when I ordered (really wish vapor blue was available when ordered) but it is bold and beautiful.
  • The smile on my face was too large to fit into a picture.
Hopefully I am the last active member on this thread to receive their new car.

Glad you finally got your vehicle. I love driving my Mach-E! Our local electric coop offers free DC charging. I've been able to take advantage of that! Your dealer experience on price protection, though may not ideal, was better than mine. I took delivery of my Mach-E on November 12. Initially the dealer did not want to honor price protection on my car. After I keep pushing them over the last month, they finally agree to send me the refund from Ford when they received it. I need to find a way to monitor the Ford refund process to the dealers. What a mess and bad customer experience!!
