Acceleration loss after junction box replaced

I recently had to have my junction box replaced under warranty after getting the service vehicle warning. After getting the vehicle back, the acceleration is nowhere close to what it was. The vehicle is all around slower. Took it back to the dealer and they “calibrated and updated software”, but it didn’t fix the problem. 0-60 is roughly 6 seconds now… I have another appointment with them after the new year so we shall see what they try this time. Anyone else experience/heard of anything like this?

Before you are testing 0-60 time, are you doing the following?

1. Setting a departure time while plugged into a level 2 charger to fully warm up the battery pack
2. Battery is charged to at least 90%

If you do not do the above, then you will have a reduced 0-60 time because the battery cannot output as much power when it is cold or not fully charged.

The car is slower in the winter if you do not warm up the pack first.

Level was over 90% and battery was indeed warmed up as we were in the midst of traveling. I am on the road a lot for work and I can tell the acceleration and pick up is off in a big way compared to the 15k miles of driving it so far. It’s not just the 0-60, it’s passing, pulling out etc etc.

Steve, as intrusive as it is, the repair is fairly straightforward. They are unplugging connectors, draining cooling fluids, and unscrewing bolts. Then reversing the process. Take a look at the following video for a demo:

I’m not saying what you’re experiencing is not real, just that there’s not much in the repair process that can go wrong.

So the other thing I can think of is to capture data around voltage, rpm, etc from an OBD II reader and compare with nominal data. Essentially, is your car making the equivalent to 350 hp?

Thank you and that’s exactly what I’ll have the dealer do on my next service appointment. I love my Mach but not when it drives like a Ford Edge…

Just want to make sure you're not assuming the battery will be warmed up simply because you've been driving it for a while. The battery does not warm up while driving like an engine does, it must be deliberately heated. So if you didn't set a departure time, then the battery will be cold.

Agree. And if there was a bad connection or something, it would get very hot and melt after a couple 0-60 runs. So you would probably know.

What if they didn't reset the codes, which protect the HVBJB from full failure?

P0ADE is the code that limits the power.

Does it feel like your front motor isn’t working? Thing is. When I had my hvbjb replaced once the tech failed to fill the coolant properly. It caused a motor temp error. It was the front motor. It ended up frying the coolant pump and it had to be replaced. During the time I did notice a loss of power

I’ve also never “pre heated” so my comparison of power is apples to apples. I am going to set my departure next trip and see if there is any difference
