Adding backup start pass code - seriously?

I've reported this thread to the moderator for revealing my backup passcode...

Mine is not complex, a simple phrase with capital letters and a number. Had no issue in it being accepted.

I don’t understand what the issue you guys are having is? I just set it to 00000, the same as the door keypad code, and didn’t have any problems.

Is it practical to use the door combination and this backup start code as primary, rather than just a backup?

Seems like paak is worse than useless and people don't like carrying the key. Do these codes allow you to avoid both and provide reasonable convenience and reliability?

Absolutely, positively.

The pilots at that company got that particular policy changed by forgetting their new, “you can never use the same password ever in a 30 year career” passwords on day 28. That locked them out of the system. The system they had to be able to use to get flight plans, weather and such. None of that, and the flights can’t fly. The phone calls to IT by over 1000 pilots all between 2 am and 4 am for resets crashed the system, overwhelmed both guys working in IT at that time and resulted in huge service failures and massively late flights that took days to sort out.

Moral of the story? Don’t give Ford ideas.
