Alarm going off - Detected door opened message

I have a somewhat different alarm problem. I sometimes leave my windows down if I’m parked in my garage. If I am walking close to the car, especially near the doors, the alarm will go off. I often don’t have my phone or key fob with me so it’s a pain in the neck. is there a way to disable the alarms if it’s going to be in a garage?

If your garage is secure, leave the fob in the car. That’s what I do.

If the windows are open anyway, just don’t lock the car.

I have the alarm problem too. Both the door issue several times a week. And frequent motion detection alarms. I turn off motion detection at shut down. But it keeps turning itself on.

I'm not sure if these are two distinct problems (door and motion) or one. But it's a major problem.

Any suggestions?

No false alarms so that's a good point as I don't need the neighbors to wake up at some god awful hour.....

Is this related to the door and alarm issue ?

I have been noticing every time I turn off the vehicle, I get a pop up message on the Sync screen about turning on/off motion sensors.

You can ignore that -- it's normal. The idea is that if you were getting out of the car to run into a store ... but a passenger is going to remain in the car AND you turned the car off (which normally activates the alarm and interior motion sensors) it is giving you the option of the disabling the motion sensor to avoid the passenger triggering the alarm.

It will ask you that every time you turn off the car. If you ignore it, it will clear the moment you open the door.

My Lightning never did that so that's why...

Hi, all. Is anyone still willing to run VIN to check to see if I need to visit dealer to get my door modules downgraded (or if I just have a moth in my car)? Took possession May 2021 and just started having this issue this week only at night when I'm asleep . I can't recall getting any recent OTAs. TIA!
