I bought my brand new Mach E in December. This last weekend the alarm started going off with a weird message at random times in the day and the middle of the night.

It just started after the New Year, once mid-day this weekend. And now it's gone off 4 times in the last 24 hours. (1/3 10:29 pm, 1/4 2:21 am, 1/4 4:45 am, 1/4 9:32 am). The official message on my FordPass app is "...security system has detected door opened and triggered the alarm at..." The cameras in the driveway confirmed that no one was around the car at all last night to trigger the alarm and all the doors were closed and remained closed.

The only door I opened recently that I had not prior to the weekend was the Trunk that's under the hood. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

There was an update to the door modules that caused this to happen randomly.

PM me your VIN and i'll see if your car needs the door modules downgraded.

Same for me. Random alarms for no reason, almost all of them at night, some at 3-4am. My Ford dealer had it for over a week, could not replicate the problem, replaced internal sensors (per Ford instruction which seemed pointless to me), and the problem still exits, albeit less frequently thus far.

It seems like there isn’t hardware that needs to be replaced but a simple 30 min software update. I’m waiting for a confirmation to post a solution here

I had the same problem and my door software needed to be downgraded. It has not occurred since that happened.

Has anyone found a solution to this? Has Ford gotten back to anyone? I am having the same issue with my car. Open door alarm going off at least once a night if not multiple times a night. It is at the dealership sitting in their lot and they are waiting on a part that they *think* will fix the issue. Of course the part is back ordered with no timetable on delivery. I really can't believe Ford would ship a vehicle that has this glitch so often with no solution to fix the problem. There are multiple threads with people saying the same thing and I have seen no solution from Ford. They should be embarrassed.

Jesus, read the message right above yours. It's a software glitch. Door modules need to be downgraded to an earlier software version. It's not a physical parts issue. Your dealer is wrong.

In my case it was solved by a version of software being rolled back to a prior one. I had a subscription to FDRS at the time and was able to do it myself.

It fixed my problem completely.

You might be contacted via the forum private messages for assistance. If that doesn't happen in the next few days, open a case with @Ford Motor Company.

I have same issue with my MY23 (built 11/14/22, picked up 12/21/22), I was getting the same alarm with the MME parked inside an enclosed garage with no windows (and no pets), after 2 nights of this I turned off the walk away locking and now leave MME unlocked in the garage. I did an see alarm alert on FordPass yesterday at 8:30am while the MME was parked at my wife's school, very doubtful anyone was pulling on the door handles.

Same issue here as well. Just took delivery last month. Thanks to everyone for letting us know about the software issue.

Does the software downgrade for the door modules change anything else we might actually want to keep? Does the door alarm still work (correctly) after this change?

How do I I get this software downgrade? It sounds like many dealers don’t really know how to address the issue, so who will I need to talk with the get the right software fix?

Thanks again everyone. Love my car, this has been the only bug so far!

Hi there, Robert. This alarm concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
