I agree with you 100%. I'm doing the same thing. There's a part of me that's seriously considering just going through with the Premium order that has a 12/21 build week. I'm not feeling great about paying $3600 more for the FE and possibly seeing it two months later than the Premium. I really thought when the Mach Drop people asked for my reservation number that the FE would replace my order, not push it back even further.
feel the exact same way, I'm in the same situation 12/21 build week
I'd rather have car than wait and pay more.

Funny, I’m thinking the same thing! Canceling FE for the Premium.

I think there are so few of this trimline that Ford might be plugging them in early to keep the assembly line at the proper speed. Or the guy on the club forum could have been wrong. ;)
Or his dealer was.
Of course now that I see neither rhyme nor reason to the scheduling sequence he might be right!

From what I've gathered in the video: The configuration info in the phone sync's to the car when you pair the phone with the car:

LOL ok that video shows the configuration process but not the sync process--thought for sure I've seen one...
Yep. Here it is on my phone. MyFord thinks it’s an Edge but FordPass is ready for me to customize my Mach E.

Yeah... I'm in Mass and my FE, res #4155, is scheduled the week of Dec 14th. I'm not as excited about going to the road show tomorrow. I wanted that tax credit this year.
Come on, with all that has happened this year getting it this year was not certain in any way. Go tomorrow, fall in love with the car, and after driving it for a couple of months you'll forget all about it.

anyone get a build on the east coast yet?
I did-I am in NY-And I have a build date of 12/7 but not for the model I wanted. I have an original reservation on 11/18/19 resy number 10XXX. I converted on 6/28/20 for a Premium ER RWD. In August I got confirmation from my dealer and Ford that my premium was changed to a Grabber Blue FE as part of the Mach Drop. I did that to ensure I received a car in 2020, just like the rest of us. The email I got today for the 12/7 build is for my original car. Not the Grabber Blue FE.

I have an Rapid Red First Edition. I got the email my build-week will be Dec 7.

I've been scanning messages and so far I don't see any builds schedule earlier than the week of Nov 30 (unless I missed one). So it looks like my car is scheduled for build on week #2 of production.

This. Excellent advice.

Ford has worked wonders in just getting things started up again given the worldwide supply chain disruptions. They've actually made up some ground as well but we can't roll back the clocks completely. Look at late December deliveries as the equivalent of late September deliveries pre-pandemic. It's not that far off normal in that light.

It's worse in other manufacturing areas. I have 10 acres to mow and tend, I can't get a compact tractor or riding mower. I can't get a trailer to haul them in for maintenance. The dealers have nothing in stock and have no clue when any new stock is arriving. And used? Prices are higher in some cases than new ones. The dealers point to manufacturers, manufacturers point to parts suppliers, parts suppliers point to sub-component suppliers. On and on it rolls and will continue to do so unless SARS-COV-2 mutates out of existence or a widespread and effective vaccine is in place.

Take the car and enjoy being on the leading edge of a new and exciting part of the electric revolution. The tax credit will still be around all of next year. The rest of us are waiting for your delivery pictures and experiences.

how is this possible? Your dealer must have made a reservation and sold it to you. Otherwise this makes no sense.
I had NEVER visited this dealer before October 12, 2020. He wrote out the order that afternoon and said I should get it in January or February 2021 (with an outside chance of December 2020). My priority code was 14 (not 19). In addition, I got it using Ford's X-Plan. When my salesman called today he said he's hoping for a December delivery!

Something is not right with all of this.

But, did you have a reservation? I have never been to my dealer, so I know that is not required.

Couldn't agree more. So far I'm frustrated with there being no rhyme or reason to the reservation sequencing and build dates, as well as the lack of info about where the Mach Drops are falling in production. Now it sounds like the reservation system really had no value at all other than drumming up anticipation for those holding them. I'm having a difficult time remaining positive. I guess I'm finally getting impatient.
