As I reported elsewhere on the Forum, 2 weeks ago I received all of the pending updates for my Job 1 AWD Premium with an April 21 build and was happy to receive the new UI as well as the other updates. I did this with the help of the OTA team and an open case at Ford. When I got my car back, the update screen in Sync said that Powerup 4.2.3 had not completed and will try again. See pic. I took this as a good sign that my car was at least attempting to receive OTA updates and will likely try again shortly.

Well it’s now been 2 weeks and I still have the same notice on Sync, but the Forpass App (under Software Updates) still reports only the 3.6.1 update, which is where I was stuck since last November. No mention of the failed 4.2.3 OTA. Also the JSON data on Ford.Com does not show any pending updates at all.

Does this look like I’m stuck again and need further dealer intervention?

You could be stuck again. I had to bring mine back to the dealer twice as mine was stuck on the 4.1.2 update. The dealer can see what’s going on by checking their OTA update dashboard in PTS. When they see that updates have failed, they’ll be able to claim warranty to get you updated.

My car did something similar with 4.2.2.

The car displayed the same Not Completed message but of course with the 4.2.2 release notes.

But in my case the release notes in FordPass reflected 4.2.2.

At least in my case FDRS agreed that 4.2.2 was fully installed and offered up the GWM for 4.2.3 and applying that got me offered the TCU update that is 4.2.4.

You can ask in this thread
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...are-willing-to-look-up-info-for-others.10230/
to see what updates are available for your car.

If there is a GWM update available then it is likely that 4.2.3 really did not apply.

If instead there is a TCU update available then 4.2.3 applied fine and the TCU is 4.2.4.

Okay. Just did it. There are no updates pending. Do you know what that implies? How can I tell if 4.2.3 was actually successful?

Not sure what that condition means.

I know it took a few weeks after I applied 4.2.3(GWM) via FDRS before 4.2.4(TCU) appeared in FDRS.

I think others that know more about FDRS could possible tell if the GWM version on your car is the 4.2.3 version.

It does mean that there is nothing the dealer could do with FDRS to unstick your car, if it were stuck, since there are no updates available.

Thanks. I was out today and was able to connect to Cox Wi-Fi with my home Cox ID and password, so it appears that 4.2.3 at least insofar as he WiFi from anywhere feature, seems to work. It displayed the correct follow on logon screen to Cox. So maybe it was installed correctly notwithstanding the Sync message. Maybe I am fully up to date and just need to wait for the next round of OTA updates.
