Ambient temperature frozen.

Does anyone’s ambient temp reading stay frozen until apparently driving a mile or so? The internal temps are also frozen as the auto hvac doesn’t work initially.
so today I parked the car at 6am with a temp of 65F. Came back to the car at 3pm and the outside temp still reads 65F even though it’s 100F outside. Drove down the block and parked keeping the car running for over 30 min. Temp always read 65F, auto hvac was barely blowing any air since it was set at 67F(it was at least 90 in the car). After 30min, I drive the car about a mile and watch the temp increment its way up to 102 one degree at a time and the hvac starts working in auto again.
This started a while back with the last buggy update.

Yeah that happens to me too. I think it stated after the recent HVAC module update. It usually takes a few minutes to realize what the temperature actually is.

Yeah they have some poor HVAC programming regarding temps after a heat soak. Doesn't initially provide enough cooling without cranking the temp way down.

My ambient temp has always done this, especially on very hot days. The HVAC won’t be affected if you don’t use auto.

It seems very intentional. Sitting there with the vehicle on for 30 min and no update. Short 500ft drive no update, 1 mile down the road and magically reads again lol. if I just get in and drive it will update much faster but at about the same distance lol.

The display of temp is deliberately filtered due to a poor temp sensor location. See this post for more details, and double check your outside temp sensor isn't covered with PPF:

It’s not covered and it’s not giving a bad reading. It’s literally locking in the last reading from the last time you parked the car until you drive a certain distance (except overnight so it must reset at some point). Who ever came up with that logic is a moron lol. It definitely affects the hvac settings as well, you can’t use auto effectively until the temp resets which is even more idiotic lol.
I can live with a sensor that reads too high if your stationary. Locking in a temp of 65 when it’s 100 makes no sense lol.

Well maybe you can, but a bunch of people complained about that, so that's why they changed to the delayed algorithm. "It says 130º when it's only 100º outside WTF Ford sucks"

My issue is it uses a delay on the INTERIOR temp reading.

70-100-130 Either way it’s 30 degrees off haha. Reading high is a problem on most cars (I feel like people forgot about their experiences with other cars after getting an electric car) but yes the real problem Ford created is messing the HVAC. Make the car display whatever you think will make people happy but at least don’t degrade the functionality of the car ?.
@Ford Motor Company time to fix another one of your over corrections.
