If I leave at the same time most days for short trips in temperate weather (50s-70s) is there any benefit to setting a departure time? I usually leave midday for a series of short hops (30-ish miles total spread over 2-3 hours).

Additionally, what happens if you set a departure time but then never depart? Is that a negative? Or if you have to leave before your departure time?

Thanks in advance.

No real benefit in 50 to 70 degrees, no.

It will prep the car for the departure, and then shut off.

If you leave before departure, it will either be partially warm, or won't have begun.

On my Focus Electric I'd set a departure time for two days a week or so while out on vacation just to make sure the 12V battery gets charged.

It would power up, precondition and power down...no harm done.
