Took a trip to mid-Indiana earlier this month. Just putting the stats in my spreadsheet now. Due to the location not having anything but 120v, and our desire to have usable range after we arrived, we charged on the way more than needed for the trip.

Since we couldn't make our intended charging stop in Lafayette, IN without charging some, we had to get on the Ohio Turnpike and head west to get a small charge. Took 16kWh in, and arrived at Lafayette with 16% battery. In our charging stop on the turnpike, we went from 68 to 84% battery, i.e. 16%. So, we would have likely not made Lafayette, and the charging stop of was necessary.

The trip down resulted in an average speed of 56.4mph due to the backroads we were on. And our efficiency showed it, with the trip odometer showing 3.0 miles per kWh. Wait, wut? That's the same efficiency we see driving 70+! In our trip, we used approximately 100.1 kWh, based on the battery percentages left. We drove 304.6 miles. 3.04 m/kWh.

After putting about 100 miles on locally, including some >100mph bursts on the highway, we headed back after getting some 120v charging overnight while there. People downplay the value of 120v, but our hosts didn't pay for electricity (their landlord does) and we gained a little over 37kWh during our stay - that's about $13 with taxes from EA with Pass+.

Trip home resulted in the same 3.0 m/kWh.

Most importantly, on the first day we hit two breweries, then another on the next day, then one on the way home.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for the report.

We have friends/family in the Indianapolis area and take a few trips there a year. I have done the drive a couple times this summer with the F-150. I look forward to trying the trip from SE Michigan to Indy when we get the MME, and ever few weeks I check back on ABRP to see if there are new chargers along the way or anything. It seems to have improved by at least one charging location since last year, but for our typical route there seems to just be a 50kW charger in Ft Wayne or a 50kW Chargepoint near Napolean on our usual route taking 24 across. I see an EA charger that would require taking a different route, which isn't the end of the world.

Hopefully they add at least one other option on 24, but that's probably unlikely since they have the EA station on 80.
