my 55 pounder likes the back but with the seats down. She gets a little freaked out by the closing hatch if I put her in the back without the seats down.
I don't think my dog would like it at all, either.

My 80 lb. White Lab Riley. She fits perfectly in the rear and Labs are ok with confined areas anyway. The cargo floor is on the lower level and she can stand up without hitting the liftgate glass. I have the entire back covered with a CanvasBack liner and then a Kong dog mat for her to lay on. I've ordered the AOSK rear seat protector as it may be easier to vacuum the white fur off. The canvas material is much easier to clean than carpet but thinking the rubber mat might be even easier.

What are the dimensions of the rear area with the seats down? I have two black labs that will be riding in the car and the rear seats will rarely be in the up position. I would like to find, or make, a dog bed that will cover the entire space.

I kept my ‘02 Honda CR-V to use for my 55 # husky. I didn’t want dog hair in my MME. It’s our 3rd car and we refer to it as the “dog’s car”.

Still waiting on my MME, but my Prius is similar in size and configuration at the back. With the larger rear seat back lowered, there is ample room for a large plastic dog carrier to slide in and up against the front passenger seat back. My dog can easily jump in the back and lay down in the carrier. Probably a safer option for the Canis familiaris and the Homo sapiens.

My 90 lb Great Dane mix has mixed emotions about it. If he lays down it’s fine but if he tries to stand up he does this awkward squat thing that seems pretty uncomfortable.
Same with my 90lb German Shepherd, but she's freakishly tall for the breed.

This is good to know. I was wondering if my 85lb lab/chessie mix was gonna fit. We put him in our outback with the yeti cooler in the back this weekend and he has plenty of room, but I was worried the MME might be too tight. Some of y’all have much bigger dogs than me that seem to fit !

My 100lb Bernadoodle fits well with a foldable container back there.
