I saw some video where you can definitely hear it in Engaged too - I will try to find it and post it here. But wouldnt that only be an issue in unbridled mode?
I think, (but am not sure,) that you can manually turn it on in any mode. But wouldnt that only be an issue in unbridled mode?
You are getting the right info. Sirius XM does not have the bandwidth for High Quality music. It's best demonstrated with a flash drive with CD quality music or WAVE files. Next best thing is to tune to a HD radio station. Also set the sound settings to Surround and leave all the adjustments in the middle. Then you can fine tune if necessary. So maybe it’s just me but is anybody else underwhelmed by the stereo system of the Mach E ? I’m convinced somethings not right. I’ve taken it to the dealer already once . The sound just doesn’t sound right at medium or higher volumes. It’s almost like a slight muffle just not clear. The dealer seems convinced I’m just being picky. They used a flash drive to show an example of the highest quality music and it did sound pretty great on the stereo but any other music medium… Unpluged CarPlay, plug-in CarPlay, satellite radio… Just sounds underwhelming. The dealer convincing me that satellite radio is going to sound worse and any unplugged streaming will also. But there’s no way that this stereo system sounds no better than a Honda. Am I missing something?
Interested in what you end up with and if it is compatible with the interface, and doesn't ruin the doors and trim clips pulling it apart. Might be worth doing if it all works out I'd be on board..1) Disconnect middle speaker right away.
2) Replace all speakers with quality speakers
3) Upgrade or replace the Sub somehow in that limited space.
4) Maybe/probably upgrade the amplifier.
I have already been browsing around Crutchfield and planning on what to use. In the past I have mostly used Infinity speakers as they are pretty good while not costing you a years salary. There are some better choices out there now so will have to evaluate them all. We will still be limited as to what you can do with the installed head unit (can you still call it that?) But I am sure the system can be made to sound much much better.
Have you opened the doors and checked out the speakers? If so, could you publish a door opening instruction for the rest of us in the same thread as the front trunk divider removal instructions?Remove door panels and you will see that the speakers in this "premium: sound system are the same sad old cheap paper speakers that are put in most cars. Like Bose, B&O makes the system "premium" by the sound processing...such as it is. Garbage in gives garbage out pretty much if you are using SXM or music over bluetooth. Most (ALL?) the streaming services use highly compressed signal where you lose a lot of the highs and lows. Throw that into the system and out through cheap speakers and you get junk. That middle speaker also ruins the stereo recording aspect of most songs. I can't wait to get our MME and work on the sound system.

I agree, I found that surround sounded better than stereo, after adjusting the tone settings.Just came back in from playing around with the system again. Source definitely matters. Tried Apple and YT Music along with making the adjustments pictured below. Used surround sound and it was much better.
The only issue that has been consistent is my adjustments haven't been sticking.

yeah why are people being so harsh? So is there an 8-track player in this puppy? Not stupid if you don't know the answer. And if you knew the answer, you wouldn't be asking.
Thanks everyone for all the great information on the MME sound system. I don't have any experience streaming music over cellular. How much data is typically used during a 1 hour period?
This puppy is almost all digital - bluetooth has as many tracks as you want...yeah why are people being so harsh? So is there an 8-track player in this puppy?
