I researched. I didn’t see anything about charges sometimes draining your battery. Learned the hard way.
I would say this is an oddity. Never once have I had this happen. Looks like you may be blaming ford for a faulty airport charger.

Welcome to the EV world.
And welcome to the EV forum world.

The prior has a learning curve and it looks like you are learning fast!
The latter? It can be a lot harder to come to terms with vs the EV itself. ? Or put another way, I'm a member of multiple automotive forums and have been for years. EV forums are a crowd of their own. Kinder/Gentler isn't exactly the culture. ?

As for the Mach-E vs the others you mentioned........ I think that it's highly likely that you'll come to the conclusion that your uneducated guess (no offense intended) at picking the Mach-E was a fortunate one. It's actually a great EV. Has a few warts here and there, but overall an excellent car.
Thanks for your post ?

The car drives great! It's the other issues that have my put off. The lack of support from Ford, and the learning curve for public charging that clearly needs a lot of close attention.

How were you able to get a Tesla adapter? I thought they were unavailable indefinitely.
Many buy this adapter, it's quality. There are coupon codes that will help, try BXDY24 or FORD to see which gets it lower.

Also just a note on the Ford mobile charger... While Ford should replace it if the car is under warranty, it's also only intended to be a mobile charger (lightweight and infrequent usage). If you're charging at home frequently, most people buy a more durable and heavier duty wall charger. There's lots of threads with recommendations (like the Grizzl-E that I and many others got).
It broke the 3rd or 4th time I charged with it. I'm certain it's a defect in the plastic construction - happens to a small percentage of all plastic products - but I am deeply disappointed at Ford and the dealer both insisting it's the other's responsibility. Someone here suggested I take it to another dealer, and I will give that a try.

Do you know what they call someone not driving an EV by 2030?

Pedestrian!
Or "passenger", depending on how soon robotaxis become common. (I'm guessing closer to 2035 than 2030 on that though.)

There is a latch that you need to release first by pressing down on its trigger. The latch release and the pull can be down almost simultaneously — but not quite. If you’re literally just pulling it without releasing the latch, damage will result. That type of damage won’t be covered under warranty.
I do this in two steps. 1) Push down to release latch and hold. 2) Wait for the charging unit stops clicking before removing. This process works well for me.

2035? Not possible! We were promised them by 2020! I’m sure they’re everywhere except near my place. The Oracle of Pretoria could never have “misspoke”! ;)

Yup. Proper technique.

The op is not using particularly clear language as to what has happened or what they have done in regards to any of their issues. That could be due to being brand new to EVs and not having done much homework before or immediately after the purchase. Or it could be for other reasons.

I've gotten in the habit of pressing the stop button in the circle lights to end all charging sessions (DCFC or L2).

It's especially helpful to end DCFC sessions that way, as it ensures the car is the one initiating it. If the charger is the one initiating it, it sometimes triggers a charge fault message on the car side. The fewer of those to confuse the car, the better.

I'm using "robotaxi" in the generic sense, not specific to Tesla or anyone else. Personally I'm more excited to see Zoox do well. Taller, roomier, easier in/out.

My guess is that his issue actually has nothing at all to do with charging the car. We've all gotten caught in that loop at times... have a problem occur that coincides with something else, and just automatically link the two together as the cause. I did that when my HVBJB failed in 2022, thinking it was the 12v because it exhibited some behavior that made it look like that. Turns out it had nothing to do with the 12v battery.

Anything is possible, of course, but this sounds more likely to be a separate 12v battery drain/fail issue, independent of plugging the car in. My guess anyway.

When it comes to the death of the gasoline and diesel companies, I like to be optimistic!

I’d like to see those rolling around Honolulu’s old town sections. That would look cool.

I think most of the confusion in this thread is over it initially being described as the HVB (high voltage battery) rather than the LVB (12v battery). The HVB didn't make sense, and that's what many responses are referring to since new people coming into the thread read that post first and respond, before getting to the later pages where it became clear that we're really talking about the LVB.
Yep, I read it as the HVB, NOT the 12V. We all know the 12V has been prone to cause consternation with us, and that makes more sense..but OP just seems to want to bitch...
