Today, the temperature got to 113 in the West Valley.
We drove our new MME (with 500 miles on the odometer) 5 miles for some groceries in mid-day. Never exceeded 45 mph on suburban streets. SOC was 79% and the a/c was on. Outside temperature 113.
Returning to the house, got a message on the driver screen saying something like: ‘Due to extreme outside temperature-plug in the car’. (Warning sign did not stay on the screen very long).
With the car parked in the garage - and turned off - there was a constant beeping sound in the cabin. I then plug in the charger with the car still turned off. Fans came on, and the beeping sound inside the cabin stopped.
Questions:
What is ‘excessive’ heat limit for a MME?
Does the car run cooler at highway speeds (55 to 65) than suburban streets (25 to 45)?
Is it better to cool the cabin before leaving the garage?
