I have not run into this before but I was in a drive thru line and It had not moved for quite a while. I felt this clunk and I looked down and the parking brake was red and I was still in drive. I pushed down the lever to release it and within seconds it was back on. I had to release it and give it a little gas so the car moved before it would stay off again. Is there some kind of timer that automatically set the brake if the car has not moved in several minutes? I don't know exactly how long it was stationary but it very well could have been over 15 minutes maybe even 30 minutes.

I’ve had the same experience. I agree that there seems to be a timer of some sort that engages the parking brake if the car is in gear but not moving.

You don’t have to manually release it. It automagically disengages when you start moving again.

When I got my first car with this feature, it was a little difficult to get used to and trust it. Once I did, I really liked it. The version on the MME works a lot easier than that first one.

thanks that is good to know. Hopefully I am not sitting that long in line again without moving.

I fooking hate the auto brake. I was backing up into a tight area and it did it to me a couple of times. Very frustrating having the car stop on its own when I was being careful. I disabled that sucker with FORSkin the first chance I got. Hate the nanny stuff.
