Like I said. It was removed after the first year. 2021 was the first year.
Maybe in the US but it was still a feature over here in new MMEs as of October ‘24.

and no, I never use it

I wonder if in say Prague it would be smart enough to park halfway on the curb like is done on some streets

How many of you use the auto-parking feature

i haven’t tried it yet. Didn’t know if it was more gimmicky or practi
51mths & 118,250miles and not once ever been tempted by it!

Thing is, there are so many cameras, sensors, beeps, bings & bongs Stangy makes it so easy to park that I find auto park is more trouble than just parking myself so auto park remains a redundant feature.

I've tried it a few times. Unlike cruise control and BC, which I like and use daily, I don't see the point of auto park. Unlike cruising, parking is done only once is a while and every parking situation is different. And unlike cruising, the way the car automation handles it is somewhat inhuman, making human oversight harder. Honestly, parking is not difficult or tedious. Overseeing auto-parking safety is psychically harder than just parking.

I think in the us (I lived in San Antonio Tx a short time) it is not as useful as maybe in Germany.

I use it often. I live in LA so if I find a street spot that I’m not sure I can fit, I’ll have auto park give it a shot. It is slow but it works well!

I use it the same way. I just used it yesterday for a tight spot for parallel parking, and it worked great. For back-in parking, though, it's way too slow. That seems to take forever.

I do hate how pushing the button now brings up the two options on the screen (to find parking or park assist). The extra tap is a pain, since I'm often trying to get it engage quickly once I see a spot (and I'm usually moving forward at the time). If the turn signal is on and I hit that button below a certain speed, it should default to park assist.

Interesting that almost everyone hates it! I have an MME '25 so never had a chance to use it, but when I had a C-Max plug-in hybrid about 12 years ago auto-parking worked great. Hard to see how adding tons of cameras made it worse, but there you go.

I was not going to mention this but now that you did.... I had a 2014 Escape that the auto park feature worked really well and fast. It was amazing how fast it picked a spot and parked the car. I did it only once in my '21 and not only did it have a hard time picking the spot and parking but it parked so close to the curb I thought it was going to scratch the wheels. Even if it did not park so close it was just super slow.

I think the interpretation that “almost everyone hates it” is a bit strong.

The way I read the feedback is that most just prefer parking the old fashion way utilising the other parking aids, cameras etc.

The reason it was deleted by Ford is simple - cost savings on a barely used feature.

I find that if a parking space is a tight fit, I wouldn't park my car there anyway. We drove to downtown Detroit several years ago and parallel parked, and my rear bumper has the scratched off paint to prove it (from the car behind me either leaving or parking). No thanks.
