I had one case with EA a long time ago where I did not get charged. I still don't have the Tesla icon in Fordpass for P&C, only EA.
I have the icon and the OTA update to allow access to Tesla's chargers, for all the good it'll do me! ? I'll be glad when the adapter gets here.

(There are 15% discount codes floating around for A2Z. I can't say exactly where because that would break the rules for self promotion, but hopefully that description is a hint.) ??

I don't want to wait for the official charger to show up and just ordered one from A2Z one for now. You can use discount code "FORD" to save 15% off.

I also put an order in for the Lectron one and will post up a review on both later.

Folks who ordered A2Z adapter 2 - 3 weeks ago are receiving it now. This is what the company has to say about availability.

Dear customers,

We want to provide clarification and reassure you about the current order processing timeline. Contrary to the belief that the backlog is 2 months, we've been successfully dispatching orders placed around January since last week. By next week, all February orders are expected to be completed and shipped, followed by March orders the week after. All November and December orders have been shipped and delivered.

Currently, our lead time is approximately 2 to 3 weeks, with a focus on expediting processing. While January orders experienced longer processing times, we are now shipping daily and operating at maximum capacity to minimize wait times.

Since last Thursday, we've been inundated with orders and calls due to an exceptionally high demand for the Typhoon Plug. This plug enables the immediate use of Tesla Superchargers.

It's important to note that we are currently the sole company shipping these adapters. Our commitment to quality, safety, and reliability means we prioritize correctness over speed, and we sincerely appreciate your patience during this time. By the end of March, with stabilized inventory, we anticipate orders will be shipped within 1-3 business days.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

- A2Z EV

I just found out the free TESLA charger adapter from Ford will not be shipped to me until August 2024. Need it this summer. Does anyone know is there are any available to purchase? Maybe from a 3rd party?

so, did you ever get the adapter? I ordered mine on the second day ordering was open and now...ford says I will not get it until September....it has changed every month to longer and longer. I was told by my Ford Mechanic that if I used an aftermarket adapter that it would void the warrenty on the car.

You were lied to, or an uninformed person was clueless. You can use any adapter you want. IF there was a failure of a component, Ford would have to prove the adapter caused it.

Good adapters are designed to prevent issues, like the A2Z Typhoon Pro for Tesla SuperChargers, and the Stellar adapter for Tesla Destination chargers. https://a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=Typhoon&variant=43186507579592. Code FORDFORUM gets 10% off one, 20% off both.

Just checked and my adapter moved from ship by August to ship by September.

Ford.com changed my adapter shipment date again today; originally scheduled for June, then changed to July now it shows September.

I have been using A2Z TSC adapter for 4 months; driving to Orlando/Cape Canaveral (FL), Augusta (GA), Star Base (TX). from Houston, TX: only charging at TSC that show up in Tesla App as compatible).
Several times, experienced errors- charge failure. But replugging in to MME - re-securing the connection between TSC & adapter enabled charging sessions.

EA seems to offer better output (145 kWh peak - 90 kWh average) vs. TSC (130 kWh peak - 80 kWh average) all charging sessions initiated while there was no others charging except one time with 6 Tesla charging out of 8 TSC @ 55 kWh —>I took that extra spot… but Tesla driver waiting for me to vacate was very kind and “welcoming me” to TSC.

MME 21 Premium Ext. Battery - main battery and related system replaced due to HVB system failure issues in Nov. 2021 (MME stopped in the middle of highway) and HVB Joint(?) recall repair in Feb. 2024

I talked to Ford parts EV customer service (844-589-0060) to find out when the adapter we ordered in April would arrive. Previously, an online search showed September, but now the online link isn't working for me (https://mustangmacheclub.org/check-your-ford-nacs-adapter-order-status/). The Ford parts person today told me that my order was "in process," with no date listed. She said the last adapter shipment they'd received was June and that she had no idea when another shipment would arrive. :(

Your mechanic is wrong. Warranties have to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Among the things that the act does … one of its features is to stop the abuse of “if you use an aftermarket product then your entire warranty is automatically void.”

So, for example … you replace the headlights on your car with an aftermarket headlight product. Some weeks later, the transmission fails and the dealer says “you voided your warranty when you added aftermarket headlights”. Clearly the headlight would have no relationship to the reliability of the transmission.

This isn’t to say that there aren’t things you could do to void coverage over a specific part. IF you make a change that DOES have an adverse effect … then they can refuse to cover the failure under warranty for that specific part. But that would only happen in cases where there is a cause & effect relationship — and not to the whole car.

So… suppose you use an aftermarket charge port adapter, it can’t take the heat … it melts, shorts out, and it damages the charging port on the car. The manufacturer could refuse to honor repair of the damaged car parts under warranty. But the difference is that you would clearly link the cause & effect.
