Avoid Highways Navigation

Hi all, so the Mrs is learning to drive and avoid highways to go places (for now) I don't see a setting under navigation or even talking to the MME to say

"Navigate to Point A, Avoid Highways"

So she can get used to the drive before going crazy on the Highways.

Avoid highways?? Did you just want dirt roads? ?. What I remember is options for fastest time and shortest distance. Maybe there was one other option, I would have to go back and look.

Use GoogleMaps.

Waze for sure has an avoid highways option if you want to use that to navigate instead.

The pictures came out with a lot of glare so you may not be able to see the buttons I’m point ing at very well, but…

step 1. Open navigation

step 2. Tap the wrench button in the lower left corner of the map.

step 3. Select settings from the lower right corner of the pop up box

step 4. Scroll down until you see Avoidances.

I don't have the settings in front of me, but in the navigation app, hit the setting icon and check in the Avoidances tab to see if you can turn highways off. You could also try the Eco Route rather than Fastest.
