Interesting. My cards are two-sided, with a five-digit door code on one side, and a seven-digit start code on the other side. In both cases the seven-digit start code starts with the same five digits that comprise the door code, with two additional digits appended at the end.

Mine is two sided too, one for north America the other for China/European Union.

I just looked at it again. It seems that I was mistaken. What @zhackwyatt said. I just looked over the PRC and EU flags on the side with seven digits, duh.

I was recently out with the car and did not have my key with me. I was using my phone as key but it would not start the car. It then asked me for the backup start passcode? How does one set that up?
Make sure you put your phone on the charging pad, most of my key not detected issues are when i leave my phone in my pocket.
In another thread, I mentioned that this came up twice this week for my wife... the PAAK would let her in, but the car would not detect the key inside (after it already let her in) and start code did not work. With a single entry it sent a notification to my phone app and hers that the number of attempts exceeded the maximum.... Really? one entry exceeds the maximum? Not a friendly phone call from her the second time in 3 days this happened.

My wife and I have used PAAK exclusively since getting the car, but something is going wrong in the last week or two. I've tried the code a few times over the months to make sure I knew how to do it, but now something has changed and it doesn't work.
Have all of you updated your cars at the dealer with 21P22?

I was trying to change the door code the other day and it asked for the factory code.

I checked here and saw people who said they received the code card on their sun visor and some said it could be found under the passenger side carpet under a panel?

I don't have such a card... I didn't get any book, or cards in the visor and I haven't 'ripped up' the floorboards yet.

For the first car, the 4x, it was stuck in the visor. For the second car I found it in some random place, I don't remember whether it was in the glove box in the folder with my paperwork or in the center console. But anyway, if you don't have it, I'd contact your dealer and/or Ford; they should be able to give it to you.

I acquired my first Ford in 2019. I'd always seen that Fords have the door keypads but I never realized how useful that feature is until I owned one.

Not under the carpet. Glove box.

Your dealer can look up the code for you. It’ll be in their computers for a couple of years anyway. They probably also have the card in their possession anyway.
