Blocked from Ford Pass

I found out last Friday I could not log into any Ford site needing a password. I made a valiant attempt to change passwords without resolution.
After some hours of frustration I called customer service. Talked a live person in a few minutes. Ford made a mistake and blocked some accounts. She told me the issue is known and being worked on by the tech engineers. She was very nice and told me someone would call back and unblock them account.
I should have also said I have not changed any info since May when I picked up my car.
I am curious why I have not seen this issue on the forum. She implied it is a current problem with more than a few Mach E customers.

Ok,but I don’t know what API is. I have not used any unauthorized endpoints etc. I just use Ford Pass. Sorry my lack of knowledge but I do understand how to remedy this thanks to you.

I should have said it was the same error code. Second should have googled API and endpoint.
I don’t believe I ever ventured off the Ford reservation.
I will follow your advice.

Check this post from @Mach-Lee for a partial list of services that were using Ford data in an unauthorized manner, often leading to having accounts get disabled:

API is "application programming interface." But that's rather techie and unimportant here. The key point is that some vehicle owners are providing their Ford.com/FordPass login credentials to third parties who aren't authorized by Ford to access Ford's services or customer data. Ford is beginning to crack down on this.

I got the same, since friday my co worker also. Only we did was connecting ABRP (A Better Route Planner) via ford.smartcar.com to the car. This was a new option with ABRP . But if thats the case why does Ford let ford.smartcar.com working for three days before it blocks, why don’t just refuse connection at the first attempt.

I just got after three persons, you need to send a mail. Send two no reply yet..

If that is the problem, like many as soon as I planned a trip I installed that app 6 months ago. I again talked to customer service and they asked about signing up for electrical company plans for home charging. Specifically Opptiwatt. I don't have that. Also I was asked about jail breaking my phone which is also a no. They said that before I can be unblocked it had to be investigated and not simply throw a switch to unblock. It was "expedited". No promised call yet. I am really angry with Ford. I have been a good customer and should not be treated as if I did something wrong. They only cause some to give bad reviews and cause loss of business, if the care. If someone from Ford monitors these posts speak up and clarify how to get unblocked.

If you see Error code CSIAH0320E, it's the same issue.

I am really angry with Ford. I have been a good customer and should not be treated as if I did something wrong.
You may not have figured it out yet but you probably signed up for something that violated the terms of use of your account.

Here’s the list again: Optiwatt, Recurrent, ev.energy, ABRP (OTA live data), Tronity, Charge Smart MA, SmartCharge Rewards, other utility control apps, FordPass plugins for HomeBridge or Home Assistant, widgets. If you car is still on their servers it's an issue until fully removed.

The ABRP app by itself won't do anything, it's only if you signed up for the premium live data beta program and linked your Mach-E:

ABRP has since discontinued this OTA program because of it locking out accounts. If you used the beta, then you need to have them completely remove your vehicle from their server, email the ABRP devs and tell them your Ford account was locked. They should know what to do.

Ford has not published a list, that's my list since I keep track of what everyone on the forum reports as the cause of their accounts being locked out.

From the rumblings I have heard, Ford is working on their own API process to actually have third party apps do these tasks in a secure method. These handshakes are not the safest thing to do from a security perspective so until Ford has an API service to do it securely without having to use your own credentials they will block it. Also Ford plans to charge for the new API usage, so we will see how many developers adopt it and pay.

For now, the best option is to wait and not risk your account.

Thank you. I do not believe I signed up what you mentioned. Didnt like app anyway. Although I figured out the issue thanks to replies i guess will wait for Ford to get back to me.
