BluCruise camera - blinking lights?

I've noticed on some MME review videos that the BluCruise camera, mounted on the steering column, has blinking lights. Haven't seen this happen on my 2024 GT. Does anyone know what those blinking lights are for? Looks annoying so I'm glad I haven't had this happen.

The IR LEDs are only visible if you are using your phone or camera to take a picture or video. Human eye can’t really see anything.

They are part of the driver monitoring camera, which is tracking the direction of your gaze to make sure you are looking at the road.
