Yes, more miles driven on BC this year, but there are also more cars on the road that have BC enabled.

It’s not a real win if people aren’t actually paying extra for it.

Pre 2025 Mach E’s don’t actually get the advanced Blue Cruise. They don’t even get version 1.4. Yall can try and use comma open pilot

1.5 is exceptional even on unmapped roads. However, not FSD exceptional; FSD is on another tier

Yes and no, you are used to driving on your own - the vast majority of the population are used to driving on their own, and on older Blue Cruise versions that’s understandable

but FSD may be a killer app; if Ford remains competitive, people will buy their cars

i'd be more impressed if Ford announced their actual subscription take rate per year and how many of those hours/trips/miles were by subscription users vs initial trial users.

They’ll never do that. But I bet it’s concerning to Ford. They really want to monetize something that most people expect to come with the car at this point.

Edgy take, bruh. Except that nobody said “no one uses it.” A few people said they personally don’t use it. A lot of people said Ford is asking too much - and that’s true.

The point was that a LOT of people are using it, for now, but the timeline indicates that most of those people are still using it under some form of free or discount promotional pricing.

The question is what percentage of owners are currently paying rack-rate for BC. Something @Ford Motor Company will never share. But I would bet is under 15%.

I honestly don’t trust it yet. I’ll use LKA and adaptive cruise control on the highway, but I don’t trust the computers to see, recognize, and react as well as I do for edge cases. LKA and ACC still handle the details when I’m busy talking with my passengers.

Would I use BC if it were free? Yeah, I’d probably try it. Would I be willing to pay a monthly subscription for it? Not unless it was dirt cheap.

Falls in the same bucket as SirusXM. When they offer me three months free, I’ll take it, but only if I have a long road trip coming up. Otherwise, I’m fine with the options I already have.

Just be aware that the Comma does not currently work on the 25 MME since the OBD system is encrypted... In fact, nothing much works with it... like TorquePro, CarScanner Pro, OBDLink, etc... Even those will only show the most basic info. No HVB info, SOH, etc. All of those, including the Comma units work on 24 and older

It is a must have for me. I turned down Rivans and Tycans/Macans for that reason (also 1pd or no deal as well).

And more importantly, fix the pricing.

They did! They hired some streaming service guy to come up with a pricing plan and then change it every 4 months, negating existing agreements etc.

Well my dealership got back to me today. They are saying their Ford rep tells them that a lifetime Bluecruise subscription was never available to Mach E purchasers. They tell me though I could have purchased a 7 year subscription at delivery. That comes out to about $30/month so better than the yearly rate and much better than the monthly rate. Question to the group here is if anyone did get a “lifetime “ subscription or is this something I misunderstood was offered.

Fwiw (discussed years ago), from the window sticker on a 2021 Mach E, we paid a LOT ($1900) for the 360 package including Bluecruise. It wasn’t clear that BC was a subscription.

Thanks for the link and after reading just a few of them I can see the subscription options and cost have been hard to pin down.. I don’t have high hopes I’ll get the 7 year offer retroactively ( or if it was actauul even possible at purchase) so I’ll probably end up renewing at $495/yr ($41.25 a month). I guess the up side is if Ford reduces the annual cost in future years I won’t be locked into longer subscription.

I like BlueCruise a lot. It's great. Way better than the built-in lane centering. Pretty much as good as Tesla's FSD on highways. (Note to Tesla: Let ME decide when to pass another car, please!)

According to my Ford App, I could still order BC for a single month and pay a one-time fee of $50, which is what I have done as recently as 4 months ago. For me, when I drive 5+ hours each way on a vacation trip, that's worth the money. Then after the trip, I cancel.

If they keep allowing that essentially month-to-month payment, I will keep doing it.
But if they change it to a minimum 1-year subscription, say, I will never use it.

It's not on many highways near me but it turns out I only need it on the highway I use all the time: Calgary to Canmore then to Banff and then on to Sunshine Village turnoff for skiing. I use it all the time since that's where I mostly drive!
